S-Class W222 W222 S-Class technical innovation, whats do you expect.

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).

Lets use this thread to discuss what you the next S-Class to showcase in advanced technology.
(Please don`t come up with something silly) be logical.

By now you should know that Mercedes was quit conservative with technical innovations on the W221 S-Class because thay wanted to focus on quality. This should have given the engineers more than enough time for innovations both in quality control and advanced engineering leadership.

Wish list:

Brand new command system
SLK style dimming panorama roof
Magic body control ( new dimension of comfort)
The next level of pre safe..
The innovative use of new exotic material, woods and fabrics

And it will bring us all that..and more..

Thats the most kick ass part of this car..:D

Aint no bullshit letdown its S class!!!

Lighter weight, great rigidity, unheard of safety, desoto engines with the eventual facelift and those things that Artist mentioned. A Pana roof with the SLK style system would be hot.

My main concern of course is how it will look.

My wish list (on top of what was mentioned above):
An S550 (or whatever the model with the v8tt is called) that can come with 4-matic AND MBC
For fantasy, a top of the line AMG model that comes with a Performance Plus package that includes upgraded wheel/tire package (not just like a regular sport pack for regular models), and performance AWD. Engine can be a top spec v8tt with 700ps and 1200nm.

Oh and i want a S600 even if they sell 1..
New hybrid/electricity and/or diesotto technology..

I`d like to see the AMG version S-Class models fitted with the electro-mechanical steering (from the CLS63) this would include the off set camber steel front suspension for better handling.
(The W221 S-Class AMGs have not been updated with these blessings) I`d also like to see 4-Matic as an option on the AMGs (but please don`t tag the boot with the 4-Matic logo on the AMGs)
I`d also like to see a Black Hammer version W222 AMG S-Class fitted with the 7.3liter V12 from the Pagani Zonda with Direct-Injection. 740hp@ 7100RPM/ 669LB-FT @5200RPM with that ungodly sound.
4 place deep bucket seats, and very special interior treatments.

A brand new V12 is a MUST..

I agree, this is a must. I mean state of the art like the new V8s. Clean and punching with power.

Oh and a 9-speed automatic I think is on board also, might as well up all the ZF equipped cars and Lexus.

Anyways, why we need a whole new thread for this and why don't we simply keep all W222 discussion in one convenient place? This thread will die in a couple of days and the W222 official thread will not.

Wolfgang needs to post in this thread.:D

How about 6D Vision enabling auto-swerve?

Merc1 started the GCF auto-swerve thread here:

Good list there though I would add that the the S-Class could take the magic roof a step further by incorporating the technology into the rear windows and rear wind shield. It's a good time for the old style curtains to bow down and say good bye.

Safety
It's safe to say that pedestrian safety is a high priority and we've seen quite the number of systems featured on Volvo's and other cars but somehow I cannot invest full confidence in these systems to bring a car to a stand still if I was to leap in front of an on coming car.

I foresee Mercedes taking this feature to dumb proof levels.

Hybrid
The S400 has been a proof of concept. Compact battery fitted in the rear without eating up too much realestate in the boot unlike the Lexus LS600h which had virtually half the boot capacity of a non hybrid LS.

Any S-Class fans wet dream would be a pre-scan S-Class that irons out bumps and an electric engine with with moderate range that would make the car near silent and vibration proof. There is some strong potential in a creating a true "floating on clouds" experience here.

Entertainment
Anyone who've seen fully decked out rear seats of an F01, Panamera or A8 knows that the arms race is real. Post-iPad era means that a crappy 7 inch screen crammed into a headrest won't excite anyone, so Mercedes have some inventiveness to produce in this category, iPad integration would be brilliant.

4 matic in AMG or no AMG only as option never as standard though..

Oh and i wish it could come to me when i whistle..haha:D

It's just speculation and what people would like to see. Nothing official in that, so it can use a different thread.

Thanks. Had not seen that before. Looks flush with the interior and well integrated.

Another thought I had about pedestrian detection would be if the camera detect humans by scanning for objects containing water. That is what the military use, not sure how Volvo cars detect humans, whether it's by skeleton structure like Microsoft Kinect.
