The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).

I have lots of burned LEDs in my house as well.
The W222 was the first car in the world to have only LED's fitted to the car instead of usual bulbs. They supposed to be less maintenance and cheaper than usual bulbs, hoping that your LED's were not expensive.

First , they were on warranty . Now , I am way over them .Just forgot about them . For example , the handles...All 4 are burned.
But I had interior burned also , for example , one color from the tweeter light ( Burmester 3D ) . And other small ones...
Yes , pretty odd . LED should be way more lasting than standard bulb
The earlier W205 experienced similar issues with broken LED lights on the exterior door handles, apparently the wiring were not grounded properly, causing the lights to not function.

No , they are poor manufactured. Because they faded/changed intensity over time .
I am a LED lighting importer , and I know when an LED diode is poor quality (or power supply)
They got updated as far as I know . In 2017-2018ish
