There are already two real comparisons of the i7 with the EQS, only one between the 7 and the S, it's time to see more!

I finally saw the new 7er outside my friends' condo.
It doesn`t look as large in the metal as it does in photos and is as attractive as a blowfish with droopy eyes. It is not my thing at all!
With the RandD savings with this on a pure EV platform instead of a shared one, the designers could have come up with a reskinned version for the North American and European markets. It is just an ugly car IMO.

It's been years since I heard this regarding the 7 / S, with the previous generation of both it certainly wasn't like that.

Mercedes needs that extra mm to squeeze in all those animal products Thomas doesn't like :D
Mr. animal skin ;)
On a more serious note, he states several times the wheelbase of the 740d is longer than that of the S 580e. If it is, I have no problem with that, but in fact their wheelbase is almost exactly the same.

I skipped through the video pretty quickly, but when discussing the length he references the 4 inches extra length translating 1:1 in the wheelbase, perhaps they were referring to the fact the BMW is only available as LWB, as the difference is 4 inches... but yeah, would be a rookie error for Thomas otherwise.

It's frightening how agile and smoothly the S-Class corners with minimal steering input thanks to rear wheel steering.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

The most important thing about the video is that the 7 series is the chosen one with clear arguments, which is meritorious when facing one of the most successful S-Class in every sense.

It has taken BMW a brand new model after all this time to basically catch up to the S-Class and the S is still ahead in some tech and safety features, yet this is supposed to be a massive achievement. :facepalm:

One key aspect Thomas did not cover is the menu-heavy I-Drive 8 vs. MBUX in the S-Class.
MBUX is more straightforward and intuitive with better setting options.

Massive achievement? maybe for the 500+ people or more involved in its development It would be the right words, since for example the last generation did not achieve it in any aspect.

The 7 won the comparison, which is meritorious then, to lose it?

Very interesting comparison and verdict, this 7 series has taken a leap into S-class territory and majored on comfort and space, while the W223 is eating into BMW territory by still been a sporty car to drive despite still been a comfort king.

W223 vs G70 could be one of the closest matchups in S-class and 7-series history,
