BMW 7 Series vs Mercedes S-Class - which is better

  • BMW 7 Series (ICE)

  • Mercedes Benz S-Class

Results are only viewable after voting.
@martinbo
is it possible to see how the casted votes are spread over all four ICE and EV?
Is this what you want to see?

Yes, thanks!

7&i7 = 59% of which almost 73% goes to the i7
S&EQS = 41% of which almost 66% goes to the S
Apparently the i7 and the S are the most popular within the brand intern competition. The S beating EQS comes as no surprise, but the i7 beating the 7 in such a convincing manner, surprises me.

I wonder how things would have come out, if Benz followed the same strategy as BMW (ICE and EV in one model). BMWs strategy seems to be the more convincing one, according to this poll.

No, this cannot be inferred from the results I posted. All I did was give you what you asked for - which was a combined tally of votes for both polls.
Remember, these are two separate polls. At no point are voters given the chance to choose i7 vs 7er or EQS vs S-Class or i7 vs S-Class for that matter.

The percentage splits shown in the above are meaningless beyond showing, of the total number of votes cast, which car got what.
The only way to truly see how i7 - let’s say - would fare against both the 7er and S-Class would be to put all four models in a single poll like Mr Mercedes put forward.

Mind that the whole idea of the two separate polls was to compare the two electric models (and see which approach the community preferred) and then in another compare the two traditional ICE models. The idea being that, when it comes to electric, this is how they stack up within the community and then, separately this is how they stack up for the ICE derivatives.

You’re absolutely right and it wasn’t my intention to interprete it like that. Just was thinking loud for myself.

The 7 series design lacks elegance. It gives the impression of lower-end cars. The previous G11 was an elegant car. It looks like an S-class piece of art.

Those two photos are not comparable.
I don't think you can get a more comparable pic than this, they both white cars, both in AMG/M-Sport trim. Only thing is the different colour of their rims.

Black wheels and black trim on the BMW vs. elegant non-black wheels and chrome trim on the Mercedes, especially when they are white in cars of these dimensions, it is a no minor detail.
Surely there are two more comparable photos like the ones I posted before

As I said, he shared the BMW in black and from the profile and put a photo that covered its flaws. He also found one of the ugliest pictures of the S class. I'm not surprised.
