The Mercedes is the better looking car exterior wise by a mile. All this about the 7 having more presence is just a poor excuse for it being ugly as sin. Just because something is more in your face doesn’t mean it’s a good thing. A hippo has presence too, one that can’t be denied. The interior is where the BMW has it on Mercedes. It’s a major step up for the 7-series.

I completely agree with you, except that I think both cars have very weak rear ends. The Merc is incredibly generic and the BMW is a damm Alfa 166 with all that sheetmetal and small lamps

This changes my vote to the 7er.

As expected, the EQS vs i7 debate has been abandoned and given up for lost by the Mercedes caste to move it to this one where there is hope...

Such is always the end of the competition with a real S-class. Mercedes has decided to produce the EQS for BMW lovers to be happy.

These comparisons are pretty pointless it's like Alien vs Predator "whoever wins we lose" However judging by the last two outings I think everyone lost there.

I’m truly torn here. I love the new 7 and also crave for the new S. I feel like everyone that can swing it should own an S class in their lifetime just to check that box.

Since I have consolidated from my 19 SQ5 and 20 S6 to a 22 SQ5, I think that next year I might bite the bullet and get an S (or a 7). So so tempted

Listen to my wise words: get an S !

No contest. The 7 looks like far equipment up front. Mercedes and that black plastic inside is shameful.

If Mercedes had to change that black piano plastic center console to wood or metallic trim as well as the door handle trim then the S-class would look even better than the 7-series. The 7 interior seems to lack some bright work trim (chrome or metallic), but the horizontal screen integration looks nicer than the S-class vertical center screen. Exterior is no contest the S-class looks far more elegant.
