Re: Fourtitude: Audi A5 and S5 Set for Geneva Debut

I really hope it looks like that fourtitude pic, not the one in that scanned article. Either way I don't think we're going to get close enough to the Nuvolari concept, but the final car has yet to be shown so I'll hold off judgment until then of course. German prototypes have a habbit of looking worse and worse as the years go by then when the clothes come off there is a stunner underneath!

Did Huckfeldt made this one? It looks improved from the last one.:usa7uh:

In the article it also says:

Sitting in Audi's sporting line-up between the TT coupé and R8, the new front-engined machine will be available with a range of diesel and petrol engines. Range-toppers will get a high-revving naturally aspirated V8. However, an even hotter version is also expected later, badged RS5. This will take on both BMW's M3 and M6 and break new ground for performance Audis.

So i 'm hoping for a Valvelift 4.2 lt for S5 with 390-400 hp.

Now we're talking!
The lines are much better here.
Altough I still think the lights will be more "rounded".

Re: Fourtitude: Audi A5 and S5 Set for Geneva Debut

The RS5 is said to take on the M6. I wonder if that means that RS5 will be V10 powered as i have heard.:eusa_thin

I hope so, I'm guessing the same engine that's going in the RS6!:D

I doubt the RS5 will take on the M6. I have a feeling the A5 will have just about the same dimentions as the E92 which really is quite a roomy coupe. Then again we just have to wait for the press release and the dimentions of the car.

So you think the RS4 will compete with the M3 sedan, and the RS5 with the coupe? I'd much rather see it compete with the M6, I don't really see the M6 and R8 as competition.:)

Exactly, RS5 would be a direct E92 M3 competitor. The A7 will a direct M6 competitor.

I disagree. The A5 will be rather bigger than the 3er, but smaller than the 6er. The A7 will be more in the vein of the CLS than 6 series also;)

thats execellent news now we know that we wont have to wait untill near the end of the cars model life for a RS version:banana:

Re: Fourtitude: Audi A5 and S5 Set for Geneva Debut

wow, so we have to wait 26 days still:(
anyway, have a concurse to give 555 miniatures in 1:43 of A5!!
I want very win one! :P And who doesn't want?! hehe

A so fast launch of the S5 is very strange for the Audi's traditions.
But I'm happy for that. Fortunatelly, Audi has decided to put on sale the special versions in short time for a new model without waiting the end of the carrer (like it's happened with S3):t-cheers: Good.

S3? Why do you think A3 8P is at the end of it's carrer? I would say it's somewhere in the middle. So it's pretty logical (especially for Audi :) ) time for incoming S version of 8P.

I don't think that's very accurate. The car is too wide. They probably used a Bentley GT to make the chop.

Like i said before the front part will look similar to this one:

Of course the lights and the bumper will be more conventional.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
