GLC (X253) [Spyshots] Spy Photos 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLC (AKA GLK)

The Mercedes-Benz GLC (X253) is the first generation of the GLC compact luxury crossover SUV range. Body styles: X253 (5-door SUV), C253 (5-door coupé SUV). It is succeeded by the GLC (X254/C254). Production: 2015-2022. Model years: 2016-2022.
The guy's shirt is blue in the exterior pics, and the interior pics the guy's shirt is purple....
You right I also think this is not the same car interior, look at the shot of the top of the GLK dash it doesn't have any cover on the dash while the interior shot shows a covering and the guys shirt is different colour! Lol

Pff... Mixed feelings here. How many MBs have now the same headlights shape? S, S Coupe, C and, based on the spy pics, B-Class, C Coupe, GLK, ML and ML Coupe. EIGHT models, with EXACTLY the same damn lights.

Come on MB, surely you can do better.

I hope this looks like a proper SUV and not a jacked up wagon ala the Audi Q7 and Mercedes GLA.
The current GLK is not a proper SUV. It's a C-class and even has chasis number 204X. If you order tow package it comes with a dinky 1" receiver. So, the 205x will be even more car like, which is what sells. Europeans have wagons, and US folks have SUV's (elevated car platforms to make people think they are driving an SUV). Heck, even the segment originating Ford Explorer is now build on a unibody instead of a body on frame design. SUV sells in the US (which is overwhelmingly the largest market, btw) are for people who will rarely if ever venture off road. They might tow a jet ski if anything. People have the feeling of safety when they sit up higher and think that SUV equates to 'safer.' Now the pressure is on to make 'SUVs' more fuel friendly, which will result in even more aerodynamic and svelte designs.

Right now the Acura MDX and Lexus RX lead the mid-sized segment (and it's by a WIDE margin) in sales and guess what, they both share car platforms. Hell, the RX shares a platform and drive train with a V6 Camry. It's a wagon that doesn't look so much like a wagon. If you lowered the suspension and squared off the back end like a proper wagon, sales would cease. The fact is that the more car (wagon. Shhhh, don't tell the soccer mom) like the vehicle, the greater the sales.

Also, people complaining about the same interior in the C and GLK don't get it. MB is now trying to bring more symmetry to the model line up. The GLK will likely be renamed the GLC. The ML will become the GLE.
The GLK is a modified C platform, thus GL will denote SUV, and the last letter will reference the model size.
GLA
GLC
GLE
GLS
MB wants to try and remedy some of the model line confusion, which is long overdue. In fact, I wish they would take the numbers off the car regarding engine.
Also, the C interior is the best aspect of the car, so why try to do something different for the sake of being different? It lowers R&D and production costs and will make it easier for repair and service down the road. If you can have one AC control panel, window switch or seat switch for multiple model lines, imagine how much easier this will be for suppliers. Not to mention consistency and familiarity within the brand.

I agree with that, but it should be different between model lines like it is now. The respective families can share all they want, but I don't want a scaled up C interior in the next E or the S. They get this, way more than BMW does.

That said, the C luxury model is terrible to look at. Sits up way too high and it does so on the smallest, ugliest wheels possible.

Any more pics of the GLK (or GLC) I am sure it must be less than a year away from launch now, I hope they don't keep the interior to look exactly like the C-class

^ The next ugly MB coming up! I can already see the ugly lights, bubbly shape and weird shut lines.
I think Klier has a dislike for any Mercedes model, why bother posting a comment like this when you will have 90% of the people that read this thread obviously have a dislike or disagreement for your comment?

Where are the mods? Can someone block this guy from trolling every single MB page. HE IS NUTS.

Trolling? I give my opinion only little man. You are being personal and insulting, where are the mods indeed?

@Rolf what is the problem? It has to be yes and Amen only over here? I am sure the MB boys can handle my meaningless opinion on the matter. I don't have to be liked, nor am I planning on coming back here to vent my opinion, and that is what trolling is. These kids here nowadays don't know what a troll is.

Hey man just cool it, no need to act like a granny with a wet panty! I noticed that you typically dislike any Mercedes that is shown on the threads, that's why I said why make the comment of the car been ugly when obviously other people will dislike what you saying.
