8 Series [Spyshots] BMW’s 8-Series Gran Coupe Makes Its Spy Debut

The BMW 8 Series is a range of grand tourer coupes and convertibles produced by BMW. The 8 Series was introduced in 1990 under the E31 model code and was only available as a two-door coupé. The E31 was discontinued in 1999 due to poor sales. The model range was later reintroduced in 2018 with the second generation, G15 8 Series. It launched in coupé (G15), convertible (G14), and four-door Gran Coupé (G16) body styles, as the successor to the F06/F12/F13 6 Series lineup.

LOL, it is now mentioned on every blog.
Aren't they supposed to stay silent since they are still on NDA?
But anyways, these are the one they missed

Seems like the plastic window buttons have been replaced with metal...

Good start on removing the plastic buttons the doors, they need to do the same in other parts of the car. Cant understand why a Six figure car has plastic buttons to start with. Pretty poor choice of materials. Other than the choice of plastic parts I am really excited for the M8 Gran Coupe, can't wait to get one. Love my G12 but miss my M6 Gran coupe.

I think its not as pretty as the 6 GC, that car was in my eyes the most beautiful 4dr coupe in existence. Especially the rear end was very gorgeous. The 8 GC rear is full of sculpturing and different shapes but I think its too much at the rear, while the 6 GC was simple and very elegant.

The profile looks good on the 8 GC, in some ways in reminds me of the Jaguar XF especially the rear door backwards.

But again its not pretty like the 6GC

Even if it looks good i think i prefer the last 4dr 6 which i prefered to the 6er coupe. That interior though:eek:

Me too...

THE 6.

...and I find myself at least "leaning" in that direction as well. After all, a car as visually magnificent as the F06 is a most difficult act to follow. Then again, I'll give The 8 GC the benefit of the doubt as the leaked photographs of the exterior show an example featuring a less flattering configuration. Elegant glossy hues may make a world of difference and BMW offers a plethora of attractive rim options. The 8ers' interior is just fine.

So the poor bloke sitting in the middle with legs eagle spread would always have their balls either frozen in summers or cooked welldone in winters

It's a feature of BMWs' new "Animelles Interior Package", Batman. A new leather color will also be presented: "Testicule Gonfle' Bleu".

But in the air vents is the reverse, they changed the little metal thing of the coupe by black plastic in the GC

That isn't that bad as in some way it brings it more in line with the Concept, where the vents were metal loops all black inside

But I agree all door panel buttons must be metal at this price point. Maybe not on the M though, if they are going for the carbon/gloss black/alcantara sporty ambience, but it must be high quality black plastic then.

Many a Comment made today when they showed the car in Italy. That many commented on its Italian roots and execution of style. Maserati comparisons were made. You could actually photoshop a Maserati Grille to the front and would not be that far off.

Some more remote examples of BMWs' historical "Italian Connection" and its' "Kindred Spiritual Relationship" with Maserati:

The Pietro Frua-penned Glas 2600/Glas-BMW 3000 V8 (often referred to as "The Glaserati") ...

...looks a bit like the...Maserati Mexico II (also Frua-penned).

And doesn't the Glas 1700 (later Glas-BMW 1800)...

...look a bit like a..."mini-Maserati Quattroporte I" ?
