New Mercedes S-Class spied with less camo

That trunk makes it look like it's clenching its arse.

Thanx 4 the appreciation.:)
Imo, i believe that's how the new S headlights are gonna look like. It does have a very similar shape with the new A, and for me it seems like they repeat the same pattern again to what they did with the W221 & previous gen A-Class (W169) which both have a very similar shape of headlights as well.

Same pattern again..

Oh snap!!!
wow man, thats quit shocking to say the least! Again thanks for the effort. I`m shaking my head over this mmm,mm!

Your welcome. ;)
At least on the S, this new headlights look better compared to the ones on the new A.. (just like the previous gen) And i'm quite sure that the new S is gonna have those shoulder lines that drop to the rear wheel-arch just like on the new A. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing for you guys, because for me the most important thing that i concern is the front part which is i'm quite happy if it turns out looking like that.:)

Well, no question that the final design sees the odd offset lines on the side view. The rear angle shot actually doesn't look bad, but I'll be curious to see how this translates in the flesh. Not sure such a stately car as the S should resort to design gimmicks. Time will tell. I was just going through the brochure on the Jag XJ and it is amazing just how crappy and dull Mercedes wheels have become. You buy a 100k S-class and get wheels better suited for a cheap asian car. At least in the looks dept. That XJ bloes away the S in terms of interior leather options and standard features. Not saying its built like the S, but MB has a lot to do IMO. It's really sad when you still have to get a package to get Keyless Go, when its standard in a Camry hybrid.

True and the reason why Jaguar offers more leather and wheels is because they skimp on the engineering and the car is put together like crap compared to a Mercedes-Benz. If you're buying a car for wood and leather and keyless go then you really should be in a Hyundai showroom where you can have all those things for much less money. A Mercedes isn't judged by its wood, leather or keyless go. Mercedes has a lot to do? Yet the S-Class outsells and outdoes the Jaguar in nearly every way possible except maybe sheer handling, to which you can get an AMG model to do that. A Jaguar ain't squat next to a Mercedes and buyers know this. Mercedes doesn't have anything "to do" compared to Jaguar.

Very solid points Merc1, got to hand it to you there! (really nothing I can add to that.)

Mercedes-Benz is very serious, quality German engineering and this is where the money is invested within the company.
All the little do-dads come second.

Are you kidding me Mercedes vs. Jaguar. pure luxury and imitation luxury. i mean the new jaguars look nice but compared to a Mercedes they could just hang it. a friend of mine leased a 2009 jaguar XF worst mistake he ever made (good thing it was a 39 month lease) besides the lack of quality it was just not a good car the navigation lagged, it rode to rough, and the automatic trunk motor had to get replaced good thing the are not to pricey, and on the XJ that corny digital mile gauge with the cartoon metal accents on the digita gauges just sets the whole mood of the car from luxury jaguar to dodge. but one thing i do have to give to you though, even though i have a Mercedes i thing it sorta sucks that you have to pay for extra basic options especially on the C class, i took mines in for maintenance last year and i got a 2011 C300 it was stripped it had nothing i was looking for some features that my old 07 C230 didn't have and it turns out my old C230 had more than that plain 2011 C300 it didn't have heated seats, sun shade, or navigation (all things my C230 sport had) and when i got out the car and locked the door it made a cheap horn noise and i like the fancy 3 beeps but thats only for the keyless go model which i am just now finding out about because i have it on my CLS, even though my C230 didnt have keyless go it still had the 3 beep lock chime

I also see some reminiscent to the F125! Concept, eventhough the car that will mimic its style the most is the new Vito (seriously, the front is almost the same).

The XJ blows the S Class away in interior options? [read keyword: options]

Design Gimmicks? The S-Class isn't trying to be a four-door coupe like the XJ is.

Cheap wheels?

@deity: hehehe... i agree 100 % with you!
The S-Class was, is and will be the nr.1 business limo, an XJ will never blow her away.
The XJ is a good car, but do somebody know some XJ with 1 milion kilometers ? or an XJ that looks fine also after 20 years (like the W140 for example) ? ;)
+ as you alredy said, Daimler has his 'designo' program, where the customer can maka a car of its own as no one.

Ok ...
for all time about the front lights:

THERE WILL BE 2 FRONT LIGHTS :

1.) The left is the serial
(neon daylight on top, xenon projector, bixenon reflex, indicators down right - like in the W220 1998-2005)
2.) The right is the optional if you order the new MBC (MagicBodyControl) a system first debut in the W222 wich has sensors and cameras (also in the LIGHTS !!) and can prepare the car-body in miliseconds for the best ride for whats comming.
(There will be an LED-daylight down left, a LED indicator on the top, a bixenon projector and a camera)

This is the car with the serial front lights in beautyful white and 21 /////AMG alloys:

wow sonder, nice demonstrations and confidence as if you were the designer of those headlights at mercedes benz :t-hands2: where were you hiding??

That one dropping character line, I hope that isn't true. It would be the most pointless thing ever put on a car. MY goodness.

But MBC is on both prototypes, each have 2 cameras on the windscreen:confused:

When even the Audi A3 has full-LED headlights the Mercedes S Class better also get them.

@tikipukapuko: :)
@Merc1: but the 'dropping-line' WILL BE and i think its looking just awesome! just great, something new!
@ham8: that is true, but there will be a combi.with the ILS.
@fortuner: hehe...i have work, i was sales-director @our conutry, i just love Daimler, @home we drive S-Classes from 1972...i drive my second S-Class now.
@levi68: this will not happen till Daimler can sell the LED's to the customers.

i have 'a problem' with the dropping line, because on the prototype-miniature we can CLEARLY see that the dropping line goes down till the rear wheel (also operates more convex-wich i also like very much!),
but in the real photo (left-side) we cant see the dropping line @rear wheel again ...so obviosly it will end earlyer....this is sad, because i liked the long dropping line much much more!
It was something special and made the car more elegant, more sophisticated and also longer..... but the dropping line will definatly BE - we can clearly see the start on the real photo (right-side).
