The grill looks too narrow compared to the prototypes in the spy pics. If that's the real deal then I'm some what disappointed.

It is a very bad scan of a very bad photoshop image. The grill, the headlights and the curvature of the front bumper are all wrong.
agree, grill was much higher on the latest spyshots... but the sloping line and the side profile are very close...

Guys, relax it's not the real deal. 1.webp2.webp

1. The side mirrors are different.
2. There is a line connecting the headlights with the grill on the camouflage car. The car from the scan photo doesn't have such line.
3. On the scan image (where the Mercedes emblem is) there is a line which separates the hood from the front bumper. On the actual test vehicle such line is missing.

Looks amazing !

guys am I the only one with this problem ? I see half of very large pics only, I will have to use CTRL - to make the window smaller and see the whole pic.

In the past big fotos used to be re-scaled

Works for me. Only when I post the direct picture URL do i have that problem. And I agree, that last picture gives me hope again :D

Its definately a photoshop. The headlights arent like that at all , its photoshopped from the A class and CLS together. The Grill isnt big enough like we've seen and the behind is E class. The rendering seems more accurate and has that 'mercedes personality' :) Merc would never make a car like that even though their new models are more conservative.Their new models have only improved in terms of quality and tech. They're bringing the old mercedes reliability back , its no doubt they are moving forward slowly and steadily.

This earlier photo is definately S class

I see that stoooopid dropping, side character line. WTF decided that this is good looking on an otherwise very clean design?

i dont know if its just me thinking, picturing that it will have the rolls royce phantom stance or commanding looks when it is fully unveiled especially in long wheel base version in black color, or maybe im hillusinating .:D

a.k.a Big Boss?? Yes, it does have..

The car looks so fresh like that with the chamo on. I vote that they release the car WITH THE CHAMO ON! It covers up the stupid ass-ymetrical going-nowhere side lines and let's us focus on the wondrous proportions and stance.

IMO... Even with the lovely dropping line; it will look the most commanding, sexiest and cleanest design in that segment. Mercedes will blow our minds away with the tons of details (design, quality and tech wise) they will throw in the new S class.
Don't forget that this car From All Aspects will be the foundation to the new Pullman that will go head to head with the Rolls. So it should be very very good.

The cladding is still hiding the best parts that will make the body truly shine. The sexy pronounced hips and the front air dam are very good examples.

The overall proportions and silhouette are distinctly evolutionary no?

My thoughts exactly, almost to the point of it being an extensive facelift rather than an all-new model. Then again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the S-class, and neither the 7er and A8 have copied its stance, so once again the car should be a safe design.

Check out the mini front splitter on that thing! :D
