Agreed, the S class is known to be an 'easy' car to drive. this system can only make it complicated
but i have to admit.. its cool to play with it and make your friends go like Uh-Oh, while in stationary ofcourse :D

And in motion it makes them go like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA :D

Since the S-Class aims to leave the mighty three postion (Audi, Beamer, Merc.) and wanna enter the mighty two position (Rolls, Bentley) don't you think it will have some of those High Class British gimmicks.
Like in the Rolls Royce the loudest thing you hear inside while driving 100 mp/h is the clock.
Don't you think Merc. is applying these Gentleman's club thing too.
I already knew that if you drive properly fast in a S65 you actually don't hear any noise, wind resistance etc.

Sorry, but you're reading too much into the posts of some MB fanboys here.

The S is not EVER going to leave the 'mighty three position'. They need the sales in this class. Making the S a Rolls competitor will kill it off, simply said.
There might be a Rolls/Bentley killer in the line-up, but don't think that the car will come without a 4 pot diesel engine, and don't think the S will not compete with the higher end E-class models, because it will.

^the 600 benz based on the new S class with completely different styling and interior..will go up against Rolls and Bentley.
But you are right..the core S class will stay within the class it has always been.

I think that one will be the ''normal people'' Pulllman, not the LWB only for heads of states one.
But the Dutch article says ''Mercedes isn't rushing things up because the new S is planned for mid next year''
To be honest I do not believe that.
It has been 7 bloody years now, they can't simply wait for another 15-16 months to release the damn thing.

Is this completely different 600 Benz confirmed by MB ? I will be really happy if it is but is it ?
I guess the spy pic above is not the 600 that was supposed to be more than 6 meters long, this is more like they're testing the SWB version of the regular W222.

Yes I think this is the SWB, but doen't it reasemble a lot (and I really mean a LOT) to the current W221 SWB.
Or it could maybe be some super hiding camouflage they use.

Nope, i think from the proportions of the car you can see clearly that it does resemble a lot to the W221 SWB only the styling that still a mystery for us.. :usa7uh:

The first NON-Mule shots were published in Dec. 2010
Do you really think they'll wait 2,5 years to release it.

All i know is that they can easily debut it by the very end of this year or start of next without running any major losses due to the existing S class..
But i belive they will show it in 2012 september at one of the big european autoshows.
And probably the first deliveries would come by the start of next year.

But like i said they can easily push it to..debut around new year..and delivery starting summer 2013

I hope they release it ASAP..( just cause i want to see it)haha

PS
Obviously that spy pic is of a normal SWB W222..not the 600.
The 600 will appear 2 years into the life of the W222..so you wont see it anytime soon;)

You will know how it looks like before Dec. 2012, but the normal ''non-Pullman'' 600 will be released like the other ones.
I thought the S600 W221 got released in 2005 just like all the other S Class models.

But I'm assuming your right about the September release.

But I hope it will be released in March Geneva. :eusa_pray

So from what I get there will be only a short wheel base S-class and the WLB will future very different interior and exterior design and will be a class above ?
So no S600 SLB ? If they put the same engine in the standard version of the S then what's so special about the ultra-super-duper-hyper one ?
I feel that until MB releases something we all will be wrong because all of that sounds like BS to me ;)

No. The S-Class will be produced in both SWB and LWB. But there´s going to be another MB above the S-Class, the 600. This model will be different in both interior and exterior from the S-Class and will also feature two versions, like the Maybach, SWB and LWB.

^The funny thing is that they can, as they sold most of the big 3 German saloons even this year..

haha:)

Not that I don't believe you, but do you have the numbers?

Also, I think they will wait until little after the F01 facelift....that will ruin a little party I guess...

^let me brake it down for you..this is what i understand thus far..and what makes most sense:

Sedan SWB
Sedan LWB
These both will be the first to be released, and will look identical..minus the wheelbase. like todays S class

S coupe ( todays CL) will come later on..and will ofcourse feature a diffrent design from the sedans, but probably the same interior.
S cabrio ( a big 4 seater cab like the ocean drive) will probably debut even later than the Coupe. or possibly alongside the coupe.

Maybach replacement, that has nothing to do with the above cars other than sharing the platform.
Complete new design, and interior.. and engine..to go after RR and Bentley

This is what the rumors say so far.
