S-Class W222 [Spyshots] Mercedes-Benz 2014 W222 S-Class (Spy pics & info)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).

Actually, apart from the misfit AMG front bumper, and the weird headlights, the rest of the car (minus that hideous crease) could well be refined to looks very stately! It almost has a Bentley Arnage look to it, and definitely draws some inspiration from 1960's-80's S-class models.

But I think it'd be too great a departure from the very successful W221 design and shape.

So apart from virtually everything about it, if they changed everything else, it would be a good design.

Lol. :D

I acutally like the head lights..and especially the hood and the grill..
Love how the grill is pushed out.. very elegant:)

Boys, it`s horrible. OMG, no way a Merc can look like that ! It`s sinister, horrible, socking in a negative way ! A S Class will never look like that.

C´mon, its an old 600 pullman mixed with the W221 and few touches added, this car is just an early render to speculate about how it could look like. Autobild does good MB renders when they see the first test mules, no way before.

Replaces the Maybach 57 & 62

New details are starting to emerge about the 2014 Mercedes S600 Pulllman.

Designed to replace the Maybach 57 and 62, the model will reportedly measure 6.5 meters (21.3 feet) long and feature unique headlights to help distinguish it from the standard S-Class.

Inside, the cabin will be luxuriously appointed with premium leather and wood trim. There's also word that the rear seating compartment will get a pair of retro pull down seats.

Under the hood, power will reportedly come from a V12 engine. Nothing is official, but rumors have suggested it could produce 552 PS (544 hp / 406 kW).

Also starting to miss Maybach already. One of the strengths of its design is that it reminds me of a Mercedes-Benz. :)
That was also the intention of the Maybach design team, as far as I can figure.

Here's a retro design Autobild published in August (via MB Passion). Maybe posted already?

Larger pic with no watermarks:

This isn't Mercedes, 'cuz it's ugly.
Every bloody car maker Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc. alsways make these concepts look f***ing ugly, like the A-Class or the F800 (I don't like it).
Thank God that these concepts are usually just some collection of college humor and with all gratefullnes, you won't see any of those ugly concepts on the road.

JUST beautiful German quality and strenght!

Call me crazy, but if you combined the front end of this rendering, and the body and proportion from the previous rendering, take out some of the silly creases, and slightly butch up some of the softer lines, this will look like a promising Pullman. The front end on the "Motor Forecast" render has a good mix of old world retro and 21st century tech.

Change the roofline to make it look less like a 300C and that car will be outstandingly great looking IMO.:)

Not at all! I like the W100 and that's what a Mercedes is in my eyes :)
And I really don't see current Mercedes line up as beautiful except the S/CL and SL :)

I like the w100 it`s a MB masterpiece, but I didn`t like this reinterpretation of it, simply it doesn`t work, it doesn`t look good. MB lineup is very cool in this moment, and it`s incredible that next year it will look more better with the all new GL, S, SL and A. Please MB, make that S 600 Pullman to look interesting.

Less like a Citroen, you mean. :D

The issue with this is purely image. And the Mercedes- Pullman is seen as more a government limousine or again as the dictator's wheels of choice. Phantom customers do not even consider the Pullman for the above factors, The Phantom is chosen for it's understated appeal whether in standard or extended wheelbase it has an a modern yet traditional style and appeal which makes it the defacto luxury choice amongst the extremely affluent.

If this is the idea of a replacement for the Maybach and a competitor for the Phantom etc then they are still f****** doorknobs like they done with Maybach.
