DAymmn.. !!!!
The Coupe Looks like the leg of a race horse.. strong..and elegant. .( haha i know weird reference)

PS

Im not sure about that cab though

I am quite confident that the proportions of the CL coupe illustration are more than a bit "off". The real car will surely be far more svelte and not at all pudgy like the rendering. The proportions of the cabriolet illustration are far more accurate.

The cabriolet posting is a bit "scrunched". Seeing the illustration in the magazine reflects a longer, more slender automobile.

I´m sorry if they look a bit weird guys. The pdf I´ve downloaded showed only one page and I have had to copy&paste both parts. But one part was bigger than the other one. But they show the general idea.

:t-cheers:

Rear seems to be a mix between E-Coupe and SLK. I think it looks quite handsome. Far more sporty than today´s CL.

I want it to be orientated more to elegance, luxury opulence like the CL without facelift. I want to be sporty but to look elegant. I want to have a presence like the "Titanic" got when the people saw it first time.

But many thought (including myself) the pre-FL CL looked quite bloated, loosing part orf the aggressiveness the W220 based CL used to have. The rear was bland and the front wasn´t specially attractive. The AMG pack solved much of its issues, but again, a car that needs a sport pack to look nice is not a 100% perfect design.

Hence, I think that this render shows what I wanted to see. Dropping shoulder line in an elegant way, sporty elegant profile, and some nice rear end. The front hasn´t been revealed, but the automotorundsport render gives a good idea I guess.

I can`t wait to see how the double threaded shoulder line works if this is really the case. It will be unique indeed!
Some how I like the second line running through the taillights (and door handles) as seen on the sedan better than running atop the taillights on the ps coupe.

The CL was in 2007 my favourite car in the world, and the most beautiful one. For me it looked perfect, both interior and exterior. I think the car looked 100% perfect. I think there are 2 important themes on car design: sportiness and agresivity(1) and luxury and elegance (2nd theme). And on each theme you can have a perfect designed car. Or you can make a perfect car in my opinion with both themes co-working on the car. So, the simple non-AMG package CL was a perfect elegant and luxury car, and if you want to look more agressive you could go for the AMG package, or even a CL 63 AMG beast. The CL is the supreme Merc, more supreme than even the mighty S class. It`s more exclusive, just look at the engine pallete-nothing under the "500" engine and no diesel engines. Also, it`s a high-end luxury coupe, and a coupe will always be more exclusive and hot than its sedan, at least, IMO. Now, the CLS is my favourite Merc, and the most beautiful car in the world. For me, it`s perfect.

The Cl name is def dropped then, does that mean the next one will no longer be a separate car but only a 2d s class ?

This is Autobild, the render suggest the car will differ from the sedan in a lot of ways. The greenhouse is different, the lower shoulder line is different, and the rear has nothing to do with the S-Class. I would expect the front to be completly different as well. Only the interior will resemble the S-Class one, but probably being more personal and less yatch-like. As it happens with today´s CL vs S-Class.
