HOH you don't like the F700?

Originally, I wasn't a big fan of the F700, but I came around to the design after looking at a lot of the details. I sure hope the next S-class gets some of the details from this car, if not then please design the next Maybach like this. :D

I think the big model featured on the latest Autozeitung mag is a new render of the 2013 W222. Can someone scan it?.

^ from their website, but extremely small.

^ Tiny photo, but from what I see it looks decent but more C-classish.

IMO MB can take a number of styling directions with this car and it will still turn out great.

Besides; the main point of the S-Class is to be the most technologically advanced car in the world, not the most beautiful car in the world.

There are certain elements of the car that were cool, but over all no. I would hate to see that type of design on the next S-class. Some of the features yes.

Autonomous

IMO the front end styling is quite nice and unique of the F700 and should become an inspiration for the 2013 S-class. The side profile is also quite attractive. I am tired of the horizontal V-shaped front lights that were first introducted on W-126 and since has been the shape of all S-classes. It is the ugly rear of F-700 that should go. And the blocky interior is also unattractive to my eyes.

I don't know.

It looks like a long wheel-base version of the current E Class. I was going to speculate maybe they are doing engine cooling/durability tests as this mule has a camo'ed frontend. But look closer behind the faux grille and there really is very little different from what we see in current Merc's.

The new bootlid and faux tail-lights are another mystery. Why would Mercedes be putting these lights, and a new bootlid onto this mule?

Maybe, I am guessing here, that this is a long wheel-base version of the current E Class with some different some different styling elements to the current E Class for a specific market. CHINA.

This thread is going to be epic

DOS vs Windows for MB this time. Will be interesting to see the crazy tech they're going to put into it.

This is a W221 shell aint it?

@wunderkind

I don't think so...

just look at front lights and LED's ..

those are from w221 ..

it looks like w221 body ..

probably firs't mules of w222 :D

*** this cant be it..
Looks like a MM facelift..or a E class lwb..
This is to naked to be a W222..
Or its just a mule for the W222.
Looks great though..ile take it like that..and rock it hard:D

Yes, I saw that. But take a closer look. The different S-Class-ish LED front bumper looks too well-fit to the mule. It matches the front wing panels rather perfectly dont you think? And the front wing panel joins up to the base of the A-pillar perfectly also.

My point is, the next S Class cannot look that similar to the current E Class. Hence my speculation that this is a modified E Class of some sort.

Those spy pics confuse me it looks very much like a shell off the W221 maybe they testing certain new technolagies on the current W221 like maybe the front they testing the new suspension thing where it suppose to see or react to bumps before you hit them like the concept car..

IMO certainly no E class LWB or anything like that. It looks to be W222 with a lot of the W221 for cover...

could be a the W222 front on a W221 to test Pre scan..

hmm

This will be a monster ass thread though..:D

That´s a W221 body shell without a doubt. But it shouldn´t surprise us, every new car testing starts with the old model body shell, so...

But maybe on summer we will see the real mules.

Thats also what i think and i agree with killer no ways is that a E..

It must be a w222 with w221 body or a W221 chassis testing out the new techs for the up and comming S wow this thread gets me excited ....
