S-Class (W222) [Spyshots] Mercedes-Benz 2014 W222 S-Class (Spy pics & info)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).

NO WAY that looks so bad!

Front end looks SICK. Like a W212's evil-stately grille/face, with CLS lights, and larger mass.

Greenhouse looks fine. Rear sucks, but with some heavy tweaking, I could see it coming out decent.. Side creases are way too busy, and suck.

Front looks good. The rear as well, although it looks a bit fat. Side looks a little to busy as well..

Hi Artist,
I am afraid you are wrong. Why?
Well, look under www.jesmb.de => E-class. Then you will find pics about the upcoming E-class published by Auto Motor Sport in 2007 nearly two years before the official release. And they were right - the car came with only minor design changes.
The same held true for the new Audi A8 etc.
The genie is out of the bottle... Unfortunately...

^Its not that simple.. before that autobild and huckfeldt used to be right..
Sometimes they right sometimes wrong..
And this feels wrong

Despite the great competition the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is still the ´father of top limousines’. If not here in Europe, then elsewhere on this planet. A ‘S’ has a little magic and a new one is thereby extra special. And so again we have done another circle around the new S-Class of 2014.

Mercedes-Benz has a good reputation so we expect that the new S-Class once again will be a technical masterpiece. Judging from the spy photos the majestic sedan grows several inches in length. The new S-class will be a lot less classic than the current generation. Elegant lines borrowed from the CLS are the new thing. Inside, however, the design will become a lot more angular.

At some point, the S-Class needs to stop growing I think. One of the reasons I convinced myself from getting one, was that it would be literally to big to maneuver and park around. Even my parking spot isn't too well fit for one.

Then ur parking spot needs to fit well for one.Everything should be made fit for an S-Class.:D

You have got to be kidding me! Nothing in the world like swing around a big Benz. CLS and E-class are for those who can't accomplish that.

What I suggest that that you swing around a Maybach 62 for about 2 months and them come back to the S. I bet you will appreciate the hell out of that car then.

Loll.

This reminds me of the old Russian saying:

"In Russia, S-Class don't arrive to party, party arrive to S-Class". :D

Or, of course, the classic:

".... You don't drive S-Class, S-Class drive you". :t-roses:

Don't underestimate the driving ability of the S. I drove that beast around in SF and it handled better than our TSX. ;)

The S-Class handles remarkably well for a car. I haven't got the chance to drive the W221 yet, but the S500 W220 I drove in 2004, handled with such an aplomb that left me speechless. It was that good.

I've driven the S550 on various occasions, and as the current owner (in the family) of the S430 with AMG package...the S550 can handle VERY well.

No doubt, it will be larger with a longer wheelbase than the W221 S-Class. MB might opt with 4-wheel steering this time around.

When will the W222 be released, is it late in 2012 or into 2013? I have noticed for the first time of its life the W221 is being discounted.
