Apologies for the lack of blogging as I like many others have been rediscovering driving throughout Europe due to the Volcanic ash cloud.
Cross country cruising in a 635d Cabrio provided by BMW Italia.
Possibly the best engine available in the 6er today.

Unfortunately the activity within Iceland has cancelled the X3 shoot that was to begin this week. As does a liasion and scouting trip to look at architecture of Santiago Calatrava in Valencia in regards to a focal point to shoot the new 6er.

There are some details I recognise on Alpine325ci's rendering featuring on the new car , his headlights in shape and detail are almost exact, The front blinkers are recessed further it looks as if they are small intakes.
The sculpture along the flanks is almost exact , it is more prominent as it adds focus and muscle to the front and rear wheel arches.

Of all the renderings I have seen over the past few weeks , this is the closest. We should see FEP cars at late summer , providing that more in Germany and of course Hot Weather Testing in Death Valley will soon commence.

i guess ill fix the turn signals so it looks deeper. what flanks are you talking about? thanks for the info. what about front bumper looks? what is missing? :t-cheers:

You have pretty little job to do alpine!!, congrats!!, only give it a few touches and you will have it.

SCOTT, What about his kidneys?, I like them very much!!.

i knew that back window was a fake..they were hiding the shape of the soft top all along. and as scott said theres panels laid on top of the body so its hard to tell the lines of the car so the marks thatmight seem like the tail lights might just be to trick us

The questions you need to search answers for are there to be seen on these prototypes.

Why is there a reversed hinge bootlid which wraps around the rear of the car? Should a Soft-top not sit on the rear deck?

Why is this prototype using the same soft-top hood found on the E64?

Why is there no Hoffmeister Kick at the rear quarterlight?
The 3er cabrio and Z4 have one in their latest incarnations.

Why does the roof top look ill fitting in some prototypes?

BMW has never launched a Cabrio before a Coupe - Cabrio's have a lot more to contend with especially with weight at the rear. It happened with the 3er and the 1er and it is ongoing with the 6er.

"As for I touched the roof it's soft,"
I have seen cars leave FIZ with their roofs folded for testing onwards to BMW's private proving grounds.
The Hardtop on these prototypes is an additional hardtop molded in fibreglass to the specification of the F13 roof but covered in the
E64's well-insulated soft-top to deter photographers.

But I thought Scott said it would be a hard top...:t-hands:

So soft-top it is...honestly, don't know how to feel. Both sides have their inherent advantages and disadvantages.

Either way, I'm looking forward to the new 6er w/ bated breath even if there's no way I can afford it.

Poor Scott,,,,,,,ash cloud stops him from flying,,,,,,so he gets to drive from Milan to Munich in a 635d,,,,,tisk, tisk, tisk!!!
Feel so sorry for you!!!:)

It is not when you have perfectly made plans for the weekend go to pot.
Plus one Hotel I stayed in on the route decided to take advantage and up their prices for the night.

Next 3er in your avatar?

No it is a 1/18 scale highly detailed BMW 550i , I received a box of the 5er miniatures including three 1/18 model that has four opening doors , carpeted interior , even a opening petrol cover flap.

Shame it apprently looks like a 3 Series then, as this is the second time you've been asked this question. :D
