meh its nice and all, but very boring.
But some people like understated so its great for them.

Green house is to large, the glass to metal ratio is off in unfavourable way.

Agree. And the flanks of the new A6 appear more "organic and smoothly rounded" as opposed to the razor-sharp, abundantly creased, "skeletal" theme as seen on the A7 Sportback and A8. Actually, I would have liked to have seen the A6s' theme implemented on the A7 and A8. Then again, critics would be screaming bloody murder with "Russian Doll" accusations flying, etc...

ATM, the exterior design: A6 > A7 >> A8

mostly because I feel the A8 was very hyped up, and I don't believe it has lived up to it. The A8 is nice looking but thoroughly innocuous exterior design which didn't advance the Audi's design language. I don't think the A6 advances it that much either, but at least it was not immensely hyped to high heaven. The A6, and the executive mid-line class in general, has many things in its favor, but the biggest to me is their proportion relative to its size.

Once we have official release of the A6, then I can judge the current German trio.

Like the rims on the grey one, headlights, and the way they accentuated the wheelarches and sculptured the side panels.
Rear lights with more than a touch of BMW, even picking up the latest L-shape approach.

Somehow, I feel myself respecting the previous generation more now, particularly the A6. The new one is nice and all but thats about it, and then theres the random application of random lines..

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Those rear lights are maybe a bit odd. It's actually a little Korean with random kinks and kicks.

It will still be the best looking Audi in the lineup IMO.

Another evolutionary design from Audi but this time lucky the previous A6 was good looking so most of its good looks are carried over to this car to make it the best looking current new design Audi in their otherwise very boring looking line up.

The previous model looked more elegant and had a cleaner design than the new model, which has alot more character lines and sharpened features.
