SLK/SLC-Class (R172) [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK / SLC R172 facelift

The Mercedes-Benz R172 is the third generation SLK-Class (SLC-Class) launched in 2011. It is the successor to the R171. Production: 2011–2020.
The reaction to the interior facelift (screen) on the CLS has been BAD!!! Hopefully they will not muck that up.

Just noticed new gear selector for SLK on MBUK website. 9 Gtronic auto box available as well

There is nothing wrong with the shape of the SLK/SLC, unlike the SL. This facelift will do wonders for this car, but the SL is toast IMO. A SLC450 AMG Sport with 362hp sounds hot to me. I just hope they keep making the AMG SLK/SLC with the current V8.

Yes, the above was an SLC 450 AMG Sport. Here's the latest sighting. :)

Yes there are 3 models now with 9G-tronic, the SLK 200 (new engine), SLK 300 (new model) and SLK 250d. SLK 350 and SLK 55 AMG remain unchanged.
I have included the specs for the 200 and 300 below. The 300 looks like the best alrounder in the range, it is only 0,2sec slower to 100km/h than the 350 and it uses same amount of fuel as 200.

My guess is that the 350 will be replaced by the 450 AMG LINE
and then, I very much hope that the 5.5 is replaced with the 4.0 bi-turbo.
Both products fall under the AMG department, and could explain why they are not mentioned as yet.

@Rolf, you really have to update your phone buddy :D
Lol yeah I got an iPhone 5 so it's getting long in the tooth! I certainly would like one of those new Samsung S6 Edge and then I got a better experience of GCF on my phone (y):ROFLMAO:

iPhone 5 is fine, I meant updating iOS (y)

You're on an old version, updating it will make it feel brand new, trust me.

The narrow roads in London together with the ever shrinking Parking spaces
makes the SLK/SLC a viable alternative especially with the V8 upfront. Hence my interest. I use a Smart ForTwo in London, and boy what a marvel.

Will have a twin-turbo V6 3.0-liter engine
A lightly camouflaged prototype of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLC 450 AMG Sport has been caught on camera for the first time.

Mercedes is getting ready to apply a modest makeover on the SLK which will be sold as the SLC once the facelift will be officially unveiled. It will come with a new hot version known as SLC 450 AMG Sport in the same vein as the C450 AMG Sport introduced several months ago. Chances are it will be powered by the same 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine pushing out 367 PS (270 kW) and 517 Nm (382 lb-ft) of torque.

We know for sure the prototype depicted in the attached images is the SLC 450 AMG Sport because it features divided exhausts on each side while up front has a different bumper with a new air intake. The rear bumper should look a bit more aggressive than on the regular SLC and there are also going to be some bespoke large alloy wheels and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system receiving the engine's power from an updated 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission.

The model is believed to debut alongside the standard SLC in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with order books opening in December and deliveries beginning in March next year.

Will gain warm AMG Sport version
We have received a new batch of spy photos with the Mercedes-Benz SLK facelift set to be renamed "SLC."

The mid-life revision comes with a name change along with some cosmetic tweaks to front and rear bumpers as well as the lighting clusters which are bound to receive different graphics. There could also be some fresh alloy wheel designs and body paints planned, along with a few interior revisions such as an update to the infotainment system, new trim & upholstery options and other minor upgrades.

A more important novelty will be the addition of an SLC 450 AMG Sport version which our spies caught on camera undergoing testing at the beginning of this month. This spicy variant will likely use a twin-turbo V6 3.0-liter engine sourced from the C450 AMG Sport where it churns 367 PS (270 kW) and 517 Nm (382 lb-ft). The motor will work with a revised 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission while the body will be slightly more aggressive and matched with some beefier alloys and larger brakes.

Chances are Mercedes-Benz will stage the world premiere of the SLC at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with orders expected to begin in December before kicking off deliveries in March next year.
