I really dislike the interior of F20 and F30. It is to whole opposite of minimalism. Example of minimalism would be the new Quattroporte or the old 7 Series E65. F20/F30 interior is like Japanese: disordered.

It happens to all of us sometimes, but for you it does happens most too often, pulling the pond from underneath the swan mate!

Go do what I do in my spare time and drive every brand on the planet if you whish. BMW's interiors (all too the same, most say) is an ergonomic lesson in time IRL. Even the BMW-HATERS aka Auto Mundial say that the only good thing from the Bavarian manufacturers these days is their brilliant ergonomically constructed and designed "Cockpits"

It's certainly great, I agree. Was it not for the messy JVC Hi-Fi on the center stack and Double-controller in the center console, I would have agreed to it being better than the BMW, but no-cigar

Are you serious?!! If ever there was an example of an interior which promised so much in photos yet spectacularly undelivered in reality it's the Lexus IS. Was really looking forward to experiencing it in Geneva in March this year, but when I saw it I was gobsmacked at how cheap and chaotic it felt! Seriously poor quality and reminded me of a 1980's hi-fi.

It's pre production and with terrible flash, I know, but the minimalistic design is not doing it for me. And please tell me the screen is a joke.

Maybe to make it clear, interior is a different story than exterior. There is on one side design/looks/style/layout, on the other materials/quality/fit&finish and finally funtionality/practicality/ergonomics.

After looking at this render and comparing it to the spy pics, I have to say this seems to be a fair representation of the real interior.

I believe I see the housing where the screen will sit... something that might have been missed in the render.
Also, we have push-bottons for the HVAC controls like the E-Class.

^ No way. Firstly, it's not a render but the real cockpit just like this was real just before the 7er F01 launched:

Secondly, the screen is free standing in the spy photos. I'm pretty sure of that. Everything else is camo to detract.

What it should have is a cheaper, scaled down version of the next E or new S interior. A fancier A/B/CLA interior will be a failure. Period.

The C needs to show that it is a clear step up from the CLA. Interior is a big way to do that. Along with engines, RWD etc. etc.

It won't even matter how great the S-Class is if the C-Class is this rubbish. If the instrument cluster ends up looking like that I will have lost all my respect for the brand. God that is awful. MAYBE if it got cleaned up with some high-quality materials/slightly different layout it would work...but man BMW and Audi must be uncomfortably happy right now.

It might actually be worse than the pre-FL C, and that's saying a lot.

You can't have sat in this and touched things, because it looks GREAT in pictures, but the haptic and ergonics is AWFUL.

As quoted in GTA's post, its a 'speculative rendering'. All this kerfuffle over a speculative rendering based on a mule! We heard the same sort of bitching and moaning when the S-class mule was caught and Mercedes delivered what is probably one of the most spectacular interiors in the automotive world.

Now I don't for a second believe the C will replicate anything like the S, but the FL W204 interior proves beyond doubt that they understood what was missing/wrong with the C interior pre facelift. They absolutely will not take a step backwards on the post FL W204 interior, and without a shadow of a doubt it will be more than worthy of comparison to a 3, A4 or IS. Seriously, how incompetent and stupid do you guys think MB design and engineering are?
