I´ve got the feelinf that interior is gonna be annihilate when the A4 B9 comes out, knowing the level of craftsmanship of the latest Audi products.

But knowing Audi, the next A4 will most probably have a center console and switchgear painted with a coat of rubberized black paint that is easily scratched and look nasty and gooey after 4-5 years.

If that is an accurate prediction of the instrument cluster and the "stick-on iPad" which I'm not a fan of, I'll be very disappointed. The iPad screen works fine in the A-Class, but not at this level. The BMW floating iDrive "flat-screen" in the 6er is far more upmarket and effective as a design statement. I was hoping maybe there would be a next-gen C63 AMG in my future sometime, but not with this interior..

Yeah if they do that type of interior I'll be shocked. That would be a clear step down and back from the current interior. They need to go upscale, if anything they should try to mimic the interior of the new S-Class to a degree, but not a carbon copy of it. Leave the stuck on screens to the FWD based cars.

EDIT: If for no other reason, there needs to be a clear reason for buyers of the CLA to
"step up" to a C-Class in a couple of years when their lease expires. The interior would be a great way to convey that. Doesn't mean sense to by the more expensive next generation C-Class when it is only going to be a extension of the CLA, going by that interior mock up.

I'm also in the camp of not liking the purported interior. The stuck on cheap small tablet look really is grating, it's like you forgot to include it and then you have to go aftermarket. If that's the case, I'd rather stick a true iPad in there. It's the worst feature of the A class interior, I hope it doesn't translate into the next C class.

The screen is there for sure. Kinda disappointed.

They even got the air vents right.

Merc1, the reason people choose W205 over the CLA is RWD. They want to stick with that tradition. Remember , both will have the same 4 banger engine. Beside that , I don't know why would people pay at least $5K more for the C when there is not much difference between the 2 for the interior.

How many times have we jumped to conclusions about 'mule' interiors only to find the production versions are far nicer. The C-class will surely get an interior befitting it's market positioning. When will we ever learn.

That's the interior guys, the only thing I am not convinced is production version are the guages. Way to simplified when you compare them to the A or CLA etc. They could be using those and it may end up being a TFT display.

I was going to say this but I wanted to be sure. The picture isn´t a photoshop made from Autobild, it is a real picture of the Interior in the new C. I´m dissapointed.

I don't know about that, because there have been instances where people didn't even know the difference. RWD is why you and I would pick the C over the CLA, but the general public I'm not so sure about that. They're more likely to pick the C over the CLA because of the extra back seat room the next C will have over the CLA, moreso than which wheels are doing the turning, IMO.

You have a good point. I have been driving FWD cars for more than 25 years and they are all Japanese. So MB will be my first German car, and I don't want to spend too much. RWD is my goal to get, diesel would be 2nd goal ( by the way, my first car was 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme which was RWD, and I drove for 7 years). At this moment, I am attracted to the new CLA ( but not excited about FWD ). I like the style interior/exterior and the price seems to be reasonable. I don't know if I should wait for the new C, since the interior is not better than the CLA.What do you think?

I would think the next C, even if it look similar to the CLA inside, would be slightly better in material quality and have whatever new features Mercedes will have for 2015. Hard to believe that Mercedes would go backwards with the interior on the next C, but that tacked on screen is a huge mistake IMO. If you can wait until late Dec/early Jan we will know what the next C looks like, as it will be shown (at least to the press) at Detroit.

concerning the interior i do not think the screen will be positioned as in the A class. MB made a mistake last time and they had to revamp the C class interior (especially the screen) for the facelift. They should not make the same mistake this time.

Exactly, you would think that would be the case.
