@hannaz @chonkoa , yes I live in Dubai currently, the v4 s-class was introduced here around late 2019, it didnt exist here before then.... but now its here, you can youtube (4 cylinder s class dubai or ksa ) and you'll find more than a few video reviews of the v4 s class posted around late 2019 to early 2020 , here is one :

@MJ222, according to the Mercedes-Benz Dubai brochure from the official site it's clear that the smallest engine in 222 is V6, PFA the screen shot of the spec.

Even according to the information from WIkipedia, right now there is no 4 cylinder engine available with 222. 'In-Line 4 Cylinder'diesel was available in 221 which was mainly meant for taxis and few markets as private cars. China had a In-line 4 cylinder in petrol too for 221, not sure if it was available for 222. Anyways middle-east haven't got 4 cylinder any time in 222. I checked with my friend in Gargash Enterprises, the dealer for Dubai.

Edit: new S450 hybrid come with 4cyl but its again in-line 4 cylinder, not V4

Porsche 2 litre V4 springs to mind... though obviously that had a fairly specific application, and was definitely not a poverty spec option!

I'm still haven't came over from the excitement of the elegant & grand W222 launch, so far the 'Best' car launch I have witnessed till date. Hope MB is planning another 'Best Launch' for the best car in the world.

Ha. Not a chance due to COVID. I think the W222 launch will be the high water mark for a long time to come.

This is "high tech" car so it needs "high tech" approach for presentation. Virtual reality

I feel like there's some sort of unspoken or gentlemen's agreement, especially among German/Euro automakers, in order to maximize exposure without encroaching on each other too much. That said, with debuts being delayed, I don't know how much they've coordinated with each other.


But I could be wrong about the whole thing. I'll defer to those in a better position to answer that.

I believe there is coordination between the manufacturers to avoid clashes. Scoot mentions a website where members can see which companies have product launches scheduled. Maybe OICA?
