i still think the infotainment screen looks like an afterthough/aftermarket, they should intergrate it into the dash (on all models where it occours)

It looks better in real life than in the pictures IMO the IPad look screens, especially the one in the C-class. I know it doesn't maybe flow in the overall design of the cabin but at least Mercedes approach to this screen is unique as most other cars are now starting to copy the look of the BMW integrated screen as first launched on the E65. It does allow them to change the size and look of future screens if they update their multimedia systemsto everyone who disagreed, let me show you that it looks like they've designed a dash THEN somebody glued an ipad on it:

the problem is that it doesn't flow with the design of the dashboard, this is how you do it, you intergrate it INTO the dash:

The one thing that I like better about the BMW screen is that it is wider than the Mercedes, so you can have a better wider view of the satnav maps.I'm not against freestanding screens in general. But the BMW solution looks better for me personal. When somebody say for him looks better the Mercedes screen is it ok. Gustos are different.

The target weight for this car as per previous magazine reports is 1500kg or less, which would make it about 120kg lighter than the SLS (1620kg). Let's hope Mercedes can make it 1500kg or less!Being a bit lazy..didn't want to scroll through 58 pages to find weight approximations. Anyone want to accommodate the lazy man and give best estimates of how porky this guy will be? I know we have exact figures for the engine and we know it's less than the SLS, beyond that?

I'm praying that they can do it, but I just don't think they can. I predict of an as tested weight of 1600kg.The target weight for this car as per previous magazine reports is 1500kg or less, which would make it about 120kg lighter than the SLS (1620kg). Why would you have doubts? The engine is much lighter than the NA one, and the body is slightly smaller too. We are talking about 120kg in reduction.I'm praying that they can do it, but I just don't think they can. I predict of an as tested weight of 1600kg.

The BMW's screen looks half hidden and at an awkward angle. The Benz's is more upfront and looks light and airy. I want to read my screen as quick as possible, not have it integrated into the dash for the sake of history.
With this same design, Mercedes has won the award for the best interior in luxury car segment.
