Q5 [Spy Shots] 2024 Audi Q5 spied for the first time!

The Audi stand @ Paris must be huge this year with the Q6/A5/A6 and surely Q5 and The A7.

The Germans know not to mess up the crossovers.. none of them in the segment look bad.

I do think the new X3 looks the best in M Sport, but this Q5 is a close follow up.

I think all of them look really good, even the C and D segment cars. Yes the X7 front is a little fussy but it’s a good looking truck. The X3 is the boldest of the B segment crossovers. I’m really looking forward to seeing these two once they come to dealerships..

They’re going to a DCT for these models for out market. Interesting move.

It indeed is.. this means that the DCT is now a more robust transmission for more HP torquier engines…

Separately for all the techie folks on here, what’s the diff between the DCT and Porsche’s transmission?

Not really new, the DCT has been in the A6/A7 since the C8 generation. But very weird that it doesn't have the mild hybrid for the US market, though I have read rumors that it's because of issues involving the belt-starter generator recall on existing models eating up all production supply.

I agree. German manufacturer design teams as of late appear to be far more adept regarding SUVs and sport activity crossovers versus sedans/estates. I also cannot think of an SUV/SAC from a German manufacturer that actually looks "bad". And a good number of them look very good IMHO (i.e. Porsche Macan E, BMW X3, VW Tiguan, M-B GLC and this new Audi Q5).

Oh, a nice car. Rare for german manufacturers these days.
Only the inlay of the grille cries "Axor", digger and "workzone"....

For the Q5 in the US market the transmission change is new. The base and S models had a regular 8sp auto.

That's interesting. In SA - and I presume EU, UK - only dual clutch (S-tronic) transmissions were available following the last facelift.

RIP gloss black fetish. The cabin is almost entirely wrapped in soft touch materials, including the centre console.

AlI I see is black (and screens). But I'll take your word for it.

As for the car......front is horrible, side is nice and the rear is generic but ok.
Interior looks f' ing horrible. Looks like it's still in testing phase with laptops attached for data collection.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
