Spied! All-New Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Limo

I hope they know what they're doing this time around. I would hate to see a stretched S-Class be called a Maybach and it flop like the previous Maybachs did.

Suspect one reason why the LWB is not long enough, is that it can only accomodate one Executive Seat (option 453), located on the rear passenger side. With more rear legroom the alleged Mercedes-Maybach S 600 may feature these seats on both sides in the rear, maybe optional, and a First Class fond (option 224) with optional folding table (code 449), a bit similar to the Mercedes-Maybach Concept above.

That is a very relevant point to be considered, especially when none of its competitor have two executive seats which can fully recline. More over, even in present LWB models, tall structured guys can't really stretch their legs fully on the executive seats like any of it's direct rivals.

And as Merc1 stated, just a stretch version of S-class means it is just a limousine variant and such cars are not so popular among rich and celebrities, but its bought mostly for state heads and diplomats. So Mercedes should consider the stretch & guard version of S-Class for such niche segment, but for a wider acceptance as a ultra luxury car, they need to have a bespoke model or variant with at least some difference on exterior styling and may a little bigger on size.

Wolfgang: as discussed about the next concept, I still feel that the below rendering could be some thing to that end.

^ Something like that would do it. Give it an even better interior than the S600/S65, call it the S660 Maybach with a new V12 and 9G please. Make it bigger than the S-Class, like Phantom size, but still agile with a ride better than any vehicle on earth. I know, won't happen.

This somehow looks like an evolution of the W212 E-class

That long version in AMG trims is hot, can't wait unitl they show it.

^ Wouldn't rule it out completely. Mercedes probably notes the interest in large luxury vehicles, like the Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Pullman and their ilk, and might be contemplating a bespoke version similar to the one shown on the monitor in the design studio above, and probably based on one of the future S-Class generations. Might already be too late for the 222 family, though. Where the focus seems to be more practical at present, with an alleged extended wheelbase version to accomodate two fully reclining Executive seats apparently coming up next in the pipeline.

jesmb.de posted more Pullman spy shots, a RHD GUARD version, maybe with an AMG 63 V8:

Isn't the new rear wheel drive platform MRA ready with new C class? Like Mercedes introduced the W100 600 along with then S class
and continued for two generstion Of regular models. So cant they think of Something like that now as well

I don't think so, especially seeing the bold thick C pillar which reminds of bigger rivals Phantom and Mulsanne which follow similar C pillar for more privacy inside the cabin

The W100 600 was not such a commercial success that MB would like to repeat it, I believe, a bit similar to the previous 240 Maybach project. An alleged new bespoke model would need to follow a smarter concept to become commercially viable, and possibly share some MRA modules with a next generation S-Class, like the 223 expected around 2021 or so.

The rumored Mercedes-Maybach Pullman shown below may offer greater privacy than an alleged Mercedes-AMG S 63 Pullman shown above, due to the broader C pillar?

The passenger side rear reclining seat looks a little cramped in the LWB version.

Maybach Is Coming Back As A Subrand Of Mercedes Benz

S-Stretch-3-copy (1).webp

It was indeed a great sorrow when Daimler announced the axing of mighty Maybach last year. But now there are some hints from top officials of Daimler about the rebirth of Maybach. As the ultra luxury market is increasing at a good pace and Daimler want to have it’s own strong contender to bring out some exclusive bespoke variants to compete with the British rivals like in the past. We already have got some hints during the new S Class launch that the Maybach is coming back as a variant. Now the things look a little different; the company will introduce the Maybach as a sub brand like AMG.

Mercedes is not just focusing on a single model of Maybach but more bespoke models to cater different requirements. The Maybach model range will not be just limited to S600 Maybach, a bespoke luxury sedan models, but will be introduced as an ultra luxury SUV like GL 600 Maybach, a bespoke coupe as S600 Maybach Coupe, a stretch version as S600 Maybach Pullman and even as a cross over like MLC 600 Maybach. We could get more details in the coming months as Mercedes Benz is planning to unveil a new concept model in the North American Motor Show in January and out top editorial team believe the photo from a Mercedes company video teases how it may look.

We have stumbled upon a couple of spy shots of the S Class XLWB and have noticed a new chrome treatment on the door which look more luxurious and will help the company to further differentiate the models from regular models apart from the extra length. The interior would more space in the rear over the regular model. Mercedes Benz Maybach models will certainly help the company to cater into a new range of customers in the Ultra luxury segment.

Mercedes Benz confirmed that they will unveil a new concept model at the Consumer Electronic Show on January 5, 2015. Dr. Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the board of management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars will unveil the concept and he gives a keynote address on on the latest advances in autonomous vehicle technology.

It is interesting that we still cannot be sure of the exact layout of the rear section of the Pullman. The patent photos (not sure whether they were ever confirmed as being actual patent images?) show a significantly different rear door structure to the latest spy shots. Surely Mercedes will not have both layouts?

If they bring this brand out again I really hope that they substantially change the Mercedes models to make them look different and much more luxuries.

According to the details posted by hannaz, the Maybach subrand get bespoke luxury models so we can expect no compromise in luxury.

Mercedes knows the market is there, and they know they have got it horribly wrong before but it isn't irreparable. I am looking forward to see what Mercedes will come up with for the Maybach range after learning from their previous mistake.
