The Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W206) is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which is produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG since 2021. It replaces the W205 C-Class which had been produced since 2014. The fifth-generation C-Class is available in sedan (W206), station wagon/estate (S206), and long-wheelbase sedan (V206) body styles. The W206 C-Class is based on the Mercedes MRA II rear-wheel drive modular platform also used by the W223 S-Class.

I know it's a stretch but can the new C possibly steal sales from W223?
The driving experience can't be compared, really. But... if your thinking of getting a brand new S that'll set you back for circa € 130.000 and your not 100% convinced by it, or a very nice equiped C for half the money... Speaking for myself; I don't know...

Starting with the second modellyear in 2021, the S-Class will recieve the OM656M known as OM656 EVO I with an increase in power and torque compared to the current state of tune.

The eABC will also be available.


The EQE will benefit from the same Hyperscreen, that we already know from the EQS.


The next SL will sit on an all aluminum platform. The 73e AMG derviates will benefit from cylindrical cells, rather than the pouch cell type. The rear axle is described as all new and its going to house the e-motor, eLSD and a two-speed-transmission.


The C63e S will top 500kw later in its productioncycle.

M256 EVO I TOP could hit the 400kw barrier.

I've read about this as well. The engine will be equiped with an ISG and 48Volt battery. A very interesting proposition it will be.

Edit: Its exterior is gorgeous. Sedan and wagon.

Edit 2: Rear-axle steering is offered for first time in a C-Class.

Edit 3: All engines come with second-generation ISG.

Edit 4: All C-Class petrol and diesel derivatives will be available as plug-in hybrids with full-electric mode.
