Spied! All-New Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Limo

^ Wolfgang - is W225 going to be the successor of W222 or is it a separate series like the W100?

Just now saw this in fluenfkommasechs.de fb page. Is it maybach or Pullman?

Yes looks like it has a mega extended wheelbase, I would also guess its the Pullman

Look like it's backyard of Brabus, I remember that their classic restoration division had such a parking area.

Suspect they might be for the G20 in Brisbane? Noted they are RHD GUARD models.

Australia Buys Fleet of BMW 7 Series Security Cars

This year, the G20 Summit will take place in Australia. As the host of the event, the Government is responsible for providing protection for visiting dignitaries. In this regard, they decided to buy a new fleet of BMW 7 Series Security Vehicles to replace their aging Holdens.

A total of nine such cars were purchased for a grand total of AUD6.2 million. Considering the prices BMWs have in Australia, we’re surprised they weren’t even more expensive.

For that kind of money, they got armored security vehicles that can withstand direct AK47 fire, attacks with explosive devices and even armor-piercing weapons. They also come with a self healing petrol tank and an alarm along with an intercom that allows occupants to talk to their attackers.

Transparent body areas of the 760Li High Security meet the security requirements of the new ballistic protection level VR7 while non-transparent ones go even a step further to VR9.

It’s not all just for protection against attacks. The cars are also usable for their intended purpose, featuring all the luxury features BMW can fit on a car, from massaging seats with adjustable temperature to a 9.2” color screen.

“The new vehicles will be used first during the G20 summit. After the G20, they will be placed around Australia and used as security transport for federal ministers, visiting foreign heads of state and senior foreign dignitaries,” a government spokesman said about the AUD525,000 cars.

1120 Interesting developments on the Mercedes stand, where Andrew Frankel has been talking to the brand's boss Dieter Zetsche. He says: "Zetsche has come the closest yet to saying that Maybach is coming back, not as a single model but an entire sub-brand.

"When I suggested to him that Mercedes-Maybach could be the company's luxury arm in the same way as Mercedes-AMG is now its sporting arm he said, 'we will be making an announcement in due course but your thinking is going in the right direction.'"

Suspect we may thus have a Mercedes-Benz S 600 (V222) and maybe also an alleged Mercedes-Maybach S 600 (X222), as depicted in the lower drawing below. This would be in addition to a Mercedes-AMG S 63 (V222) and Mercedes-AMG S 65 (V222).

Makes sense. Mercedes-Maybach Coupe, Cabriolet, Sedan etc., with heavily elevated trim levels, possibly uprated engines but no sport packages. Would make sense for these to be exclusively v12 then.

That's quite interesting and reminds me of the Mercedes-Maybach Concept unveiled in 1997 Tokyo Motor Show! I remember reading that a survey said that Mercedes customers are not willing to hav a model series above S class in same brand hence a new brand Maybach is being introduced! Anyhow the concep have showcased some out of world luxury features which are the highlight of present S class! Hence it wouldn't be a bad idea to think of Mercedes Maybach as a sub brand for ultra luxury or rather bespoke series of extra premium cars, like AMG play as sports division! And I think the tie up with a tunner like Brabus would be a good bet for bespok series as they are well known for this!

It also reminds me of reading somewhere that early next year Mercedes is going to showcase an important concept in an upcoming design expo or so! Wolfgang any inform on that?

Yes, they are rumored to be working on a new research vehicle and also a concept vehicle. Not sure if that's one project, or two different ones...

Wow, that's indeed a great news which brings out a new level of expectations and great excitement. I pray let MB wouldn't disappoint us.

Suspect one reason why the LWB is not long enough, is that it can only accomodate one Executive Seat (option 453), located on the rear passenger side. With more rear legroom the alleged Mercedes-Maybach S 600 may feature these seats on both sides in the rear, maybe optional, and a First Class fond (option 224) with optional folding table (code 449), a bit similar to the Mercedes-Maybach Concept above.
