5 Series [Rumors] Any word on details of 2020 5er LCI?

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured and marketed by BMW since 1972. The car is sold as either a sedan or, since 1991, a station wagon (marketed as "Touring"). A 5-door fastback (marketed as "Gran Turismo") was sold between 2009 and 2017. Each successive generation has been given an internal G-code designation since 2017. Previously, a F-code designation was used between 2010 and 2016, while an E-code designation was used between 1972 and 2010. These are used to distinguish each model and generation from each other.

Is this serious? Because one person reports some anecdotal stuff?
Yes it is... BMW N63s are notorious for failure. You would not know since you drive weedy diesels but in the US it’s been a big problem since they came out about 10 + years ago

Haha, that's a good one I must say. Kudos.

We can go back and forth, but my point remains: a person can look every German engine look bad if he is looking for versions with problems.. And some here almost look invested in pointing out faulty N63 blocks.

Because they sabotage the ones going to the U.S.
They like selling them and then cause lots of prob...

No offense to Americans, but it's amazing how they can be quite neglectful. Props to Audi for making an engine lasted 134.000 kilometres without an oil change. It's almost like Audi engineers were thinking: "Vat if zee owner forget to change zee oil?"

Audi owner drives his TT for over 83,000 miles with no oil change

I think Toyota fanboy Scotty Kilmer once said that Americans also tend to go cheap on maintenance and use the wrong type of oil, because the wrong one is cheaper than the recommended one by the manufacturer.

A bunch of sweeping statements regarding American car owners.

So not worth getting into an M550i?

To the contrary. It’s the best all-round performance car among the M550/S6/E53... just mentioning the engine has a fairly notorious reputation. Anyways - I digress; critiquing the brand and its likeness..

Funny guys... FYI, I

need to add another car to the stable. Front runners are the S6/ M550. Also lightly considering the taycan. This won’t be a daily (for the most part). Thoughts? I may also go completely left field and get a base 911 or the M340.

That's brilliant but don't spyshots suggest that the kidney size will remain as is?

No, it's going to be like 10-15% bigger:

Yellow - LCI
Red - pre LCI

It will look like that, but way better actually... :D

Probably so, i am not passing final judgement based on a render.
Lets hope all turns out good.
The biggest turning point is the L-shaped DRLs. Simply not characterized by a 5-Series BMW IMO, is not serious or focused enough.
Too laid back, almost lazy looking IMO.

Any update on the release date of the LCI ? I was expecting it for Geneva. Hopefully BMW will show the rest of the originally planned exhibitions/updates in a separate announcement .
