CLS [Renders] 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS (gen 3)

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.
The crash test car shot is the most revealing yet... no camo, so definitely worth posting.
I think that crash test car is from the A class spy pics..which is a worry because the CLS shouldn't look so similar to the A class.

What is the car next to the A class that's interesting?

Could it be a A cabrio seems nobody noticed that car.

Yes, it's the A cabrio, as mentioned in the A-class thread. The saloon was also seen undisguished.

That's the next generation corporate face look... not sure how I feel about it. Just have to wait for official CLS pictures.

I think it looks quite good to be honest. From every angle I should say. The big problems to me remain the derivative interior, which should have its own personality as the previous CLS, and the fact that the other new MB we have seen with no camo (A-Class), has exactly the same frontlights and grille.

Hopefully MB will learn from its mistakes and starts giving each model its own style, while keeping the family DNA. The CLS, which is supposed to be an exclusive sedan, sharing its face with the FWD MB family is certanly not a good indication.

At least the GLE and AMG GT4 have unique frontlights to start with...

All-New Mercedes CLS-Class Has Almost no Camo, Looks Pointy

Wow, stunner ! :eusa_clap

In todays' Autobild online edition, it is indicated that there will be an AMG 63 CLS 4matic version of the C257.

Yet, according to AutoMotor&Sport, there won't be...

So what's it going to be then ?

MB won't drop the CLS63. It'll have different driving characteristics compared to the AMG 4 door, just like how the SL63 is completely different from the AMG GT despite being in the same price bracket.

It's looking very sleek and body looks low and broad. New headlights and taillights are looking promising I think this car once totally revealed will look much better than we all expected.

Autobild is usually better informed when it comes to Mercedes future models.

We are only days away from the unveiling of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. The car is set to make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It is possible that Mercedes might reveal its photos also before that event. While waiting, feast your eyes on the amazing rendering of the car, which include its Mercedes-AMG version.

Spy shots of the CLS have been going around since last year. So far, we have seen the auto in its camouflaged variant. With the official debut of the car fast approaching though, it is slowly shedding some of its zebra camo.

True to its purpose, which is to bridge the gap between the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the S-Class, the CLS has many styling elements derived from the E-Class. However, because it sits above the E-Class, its styling has been tweaked to showcase a more luxurious “four-door coupe” design.

The defining factors of the new CLS are its sharper fascia and swooping roofline at the rear. These make it more elegant than the E-Class but not to the extent that it overshadows the S-Class. The car is also expected to carry updated headlamps and taillights with some tech possibly adopted from either the E-Class and S-Class.
