Golf [Official] Volkswagen Golf VII

You wanna start again?
I can also j/k by saying that better than totally screw up the design like BMW did with F20.
And the A3 is miles ahead by the looks of the Golf.

A-class - Sporty
A3 - Well designed
Golf - Boring
1er - Ugly
...but you are right about F20 so I dont see the problem. But Im also right about A3, by using the same formula as the new Golf regarding design. You were expecting much more from Golf but with the A3 its okey not to make complete new design. I just think its strange.

PS I just love how you take all this so personal :D

How about this:
A-Class: Questionable looks, slightly above average engines, not brilliant to drive, decent quality.
A3: Magnificent styling, excellent engines, competent driving experience, an out of this world interior
1 Series: Dubious styling, excellent engines, good/great handling, appealing well made interior
Volvo V40: Gorgeous looks, good engines, above average handling, quirky, fresh interior
Golf ? : Handsome stling, excellent engines, ****, superb interior.
**** I think the Golf may just have class leading handling, which is also one of my main issues with the VW Audis e.g. A1/A3/Q3. From reading many reviews the VW's always seem to handle better than their Audi counterparts. The general consensus for the MK 6 Golf was that it had a nice comfortable ride, and depending on reviewer, handled slightly better/worse than the Ford Focus. With the "old" A3 it seemed to have an acceptable standard ride, unacceptable with S-Line, uninvolving steering and was just really very unremarkable. Similar story with the Polo/A1. I dont mind Audi charging ( slightly ) more for their versions, but when the car you get at the end of the day is worse, then it seems to look like like a rip-off.
So heres my order:
1. MK7 Golf
2. Audi A3
3. BMW 1 Series
4. Volvo V40
5. MB A-Class

I like it, it is quintessential Golf - a sensible hatchback and a gentle evolution of the existing design. At the same time, the sharp creases give it more character than before and even the bland A3.

I am impressed with the angled towards the driver console. That's a very nice addition, though I would prefer a traditional handbrake. I hate those electric ones, for many reasons.

As for the exterior design, the Golf was always sensible, elegant and simple. For some it is boring, for others politically correct, and for the rest, just whatever they want from a car. It's the best all-around car in the market for 7 generations now, and VW still doesn't screw the recepy. I'm very happy with how this car turned out.

Im sorry VW... but this is not enough

Audi does it all the time, and then it's great?

I mean, it resembles the previous Golf, sure, but it's an all new car and everything is different. Just like Audi always does. Just take a good look and notice all the differences. I know you can do it ;) And I know you will agree when you see it irl.

10/10 For it's segment, THE icon is back with a BANG!!!!!!(y)

VAG did themselves proud;)

The standard and optional equipment is unbelievable.
- Adaptive cruise with stop and go function (will be standard in some trim !!!!!)
- City braking
- 5" touch screen as standard
- Adaptive headlight with always on high beam function
- Electronic parking brake
- Colour information display screen
- Multi contour and massage seats
Really unbelievable thanks to VW. They made it again. Best in its segment and beyond. (y)

I think this image sums up perfectly what the Golf is all about. The new one looks like it should; it looks like a Golf.

When you look at the rear side profile, the VII is like a facelift of the V.

I still think the front is so boring :(

I am a Golf fan, you should know. So, I was expecting something more.

To me, the A3 really looks so much better!
