X3/X4 [Official] The All-New 2014 BMW X4

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.
So I could find out that the X3 LCI had the MDM symbol too. Regarding the 5 serie F01 up to 2013 model, I could not find a good picture that shows the presence of the MDM symbol. For sure, I should go and see by myself a reel one.

@ Scott27: regarding the BMW Marketing department. Since now 2 weeks I drive my X4, and the 2'000km I have already done (in Switzerland and in Italy). There is one fact that surprised me. Range Rover Sport Drivers/Owners stars at the X4 with ENVY. In Italy and in Switzerland, each time I drove by a Range Rover Sport, or I overtook it, the driver was staring at the X4...

X4 in comparison with 3GT and 5GT:

Yes the X4 has got off to a great start in many countries , and it looks as if the initial presumption of those that could not reach financially to the X6 are one the reasons for driving sales especially in Russia where the remaining allocation is sold and now have waiting lists. Another market to look at will be the Chinese market , alone the biggest market for the X6 currently and primarily the response to develop and launch the X4, the X4 goes on sale there shortly (or already maybe has?)

I have not driven an X4 but I did have a quick spin in the new X6 and its brilliant to drive , its the E71 on the next level given how good that car was. And again you notice the difference against the X5.
All attention now turns to the BMW X2 which will bring the ladder within reach for those that cannot reach to the X4.

IMO the X4 looks the best from the back I am not a big fan of both GT models although they both very practical cars but not lookers for sure

^ HAHAHA :D

To be fair, the X4 stands out as being the best looking of them. But that's really not hard next to the GT cars.

Sportier BMW X4 M40i Scooped Undisguised

We first spied the M Performance-badged version of the new BMW X4 crossover in August 2014 - and now it’s out on the track having shed all of its unnecessary camo.

Unnecessary because like other M Performance models, the new X4 M40i wears the exact same M Sport package that's available on every single model in the range, from the base Euro 184PS 2.0i to the 300hp 35i offered in North America.

Then how do we know that's the M40i, we hear you ask? Simple – the X4 xDrive35i has two pipes stacked together on the right side, while the X4 M40i a single pipe on either side of the bumper.

The production model could get different wheels and maybe a discreet boot lid spoiler to make you feel about 1 percent better about your choice.
In the place of the 35i's 300hp (306PS in Europe) 3.0-liter turbocharged-six, the M40i is thought to get the upcoming M2 Coupe's N55 3.0-liter force-fed six-cylinder engine delivering between 360 and 380 horsepower to all-four wheels through an eight-speed automatic.

A stiffer suspension along with more powerful brakes, a tweaked steering system, the usual trim updates in the interior and a hike in pricing over the X4 35i will round off the M40i package.

Yep...still ugly as sin.
Haha i do understand your viewpoint on its styling, for me the front of this car looks dreadful even worse than the new X6. The front bumper gills in particular look ugly. The rear though looks quite good but overall it is not a car for me I would rather go for a X3 or X5/X6

The Ring car uses the standard M Sport Packet. So there is nothing to notice.
The new M40i Aero Packet is influenced by the X6 M so there is some differences , marginal differences though hence why the car is completely in camouflage now.

. Thank you Scott. Was hoping to hear that there are real differences under the camo. Very appreciated! Take care. PalBay
