G02 will be one year after the new BMW X3 it will launch in early 2018.
G08 is the X3L, the Seven Seater X3. That gives F26 X4 a life of just over 4years
But G02 will have all the new features with the X3 that includes The new iDrive with Gesture Control and of course a Carbon Core.
I like the new X3 its evolutionary but edgier in traditional X3 Character details.

Ok, I know we did not have social media and/or the internet in the world when I was a young bloke thus not getting the news as it happens, but it seems in the world of industrial safety, dictated by all kinds of laws and risk management, Euro NCAP's etc. etc. etc. sh!t like this happens much to often.

bad bad bad news. In Summer 2017 my X4 will be 3 years old, and it will be time to change it. I will need something to fill in the gap.

X4 with 41'114 km already done. Enjoying it everyday. Makes ppl heads turn very often.

I am surprised how many X4 I am seeing on European roads these days. I have seen four so far in the US.
The X4 M40i debuts at the end of this year. It shares the same engine as the M2 which will be one of our August launches.
The replacement G02 X4 will be the equivalent of the X6 F16 and not be a mid-life introduction.
I have not seen the X4 but I have seen the X3 so I can imagine only how it will look when it faces the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.

Yes it tooks time, but now i see as well a lot more X4 on the roads.

The X4 M40i will share the same engine of the M2, but not with the same HP output? The M2 is a core M Modell. And the X4 M40i isn't a core M car. the X4 seems to be more like the M50d of the 5 series and X5/6, no? Will this new X4 M40i be finally able to compete against the Porsche Macan Turbo?

Same engine OK. The M2 is rumored to have 370-380hp, and the X4 350hp. So even they use the same engine, you can/may have different power outputs depending on how the electronic of the car has been coded, no?

IMO if engine code ist the same so the power outputs its the same.

The X6 and X4 seem to be a sales flop in the US... where I live, I see exotics everyday. I have a couple of neighbors with Ferraris but it seems that the X coupes are very rare. I have probably seen 5-6 X6s since they launched.

I sat in an X4 last week and was left disappointed.
The headroom is shambolic for both the front and the rear; however the most disappointing part of it was the lack of room for the spare tyre.
It is a no-no for me in its current configuration.

Yesterday we reported exclusively that the upcoming BMW X4 M40i will output 360 horsepower and will be offered with the Long Beach Blue color. And now, we have the first photos of the super sport X4.

An early catalog upload on bmw.de reveals the powertrain, performance figures and the design of the BMW X4 M40i. Exclusive to the new BMW X4 M40i is a new development stage of the BMW TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine that offers 360 hp and up to 465 Nm of torque. The new engine accelerates the BMW X4 M40i in 4.9 seconds to 100 km/h. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

The design of the top model is based on the M Sport package, but with some design elements in Ferric Grey. The 20 inch wheels Double-spoke style 680 M type Bicolor are reserved for the BMW X4 M40i. On the front axle, 245 millimeters tires are responsible for the drive, while in the back, the X4 M40i comes with 275 millimeters tires.

At the rear, a new apron and an exhaust system with a tailpipe each side of the diffuser provide a sporty look. The flap controlled sport exhaust system comes with a rich sound and black-chromed tailpipes.

BMW X4 M40i

Inside, above all there is a new M leather steering wheel with a 3-spoke design. Of course, sports seats, interior trim made of aluminum and special sill protection are rounding up the sporty cabin.

BMW is likely to unveil the X4 M40i in the next few weeks.
