X6 [Official] 2014 BMW (F16) X6

The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability, large wheels and tires) with the stance of a coupé (styling featuring a sloping roof).
Ah M Performance. Excellent as always Palbay. Many thanks.
Keep your eye out for some undisguised M's... Also "Electrified" is commencing soon.

Thanks much. I've seen the eDrive F15 X5's running around. Always on the lookout for "M"'s Take care. Palbay

Just saw this car on the road. It looks freakin' huge, and it certainly looks much better IRL than in photos. For some reason it seemed bigger than the previous generation. Also, the back and the rear lights looks very, very good (not to big). I seriously doubt if the GLE coupe will be able to outshine this in terms of exterior design (the X6 interior looks much better, no contest IMO).

BMW has introduced a variety of M Performance Parts for the new X6.

Starting with the exterior, the crossover can be equipped with an aerodynamic styling package that includes a carbon fiber front splitter, rear spoiler and diffuser. The package also adds carbon fiber mirror caps, high gloss black accents and a revised grille.

If that's not sporty enough, customers can order a sports exhaust system and a variety of 21-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin can be outfitted with a carbon fiber / Alcantara sport steering wheel, illuminateddoor sill plates and stainless steel pedals. Other options include carbon fiber trim, a carbon fiber gear knob and special floor mats.

On the performance front, the X6 xDrive30d can be equipped with a power kit which increases the output from 258 PS (190 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque to 277 PS (204 kW) and 585 Nm (431 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the crossover can accelerate from 0-100 km/h 0.2 seconds faster than the standard model.

Likewise, the X6 xDrive35i can be tuned to produce 326 PS (240 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. This reduces the 0-100 km/h time by as much as 0.5 seconds.

Basically this is what you see when driving behind this monster:

It looks even bigger than the old one which wasn't a small car, must really big irl.

I'd love to see more pics of the old and new side by side!

And I still think a GT and SAC are too much alike from the rear. I hope the next gen of GT models fixes that, @SCOTT27

Its a lot more smoother than before and with minimal extra length to the wheelbase you get a rear deck that will accommodate the 3er GT aerodynamic spoiler which will be added this time. There is additional three-dimensional sculpture within the C-Pillar and around the glasshouse to balance out the metal so it does not look too heavy as before.

I seen a mock-up interior before the Christmas holiday and whilst the current GT is a nice place to sit the new one includes all the features that are coming with the 7er including the rear lounge with individual seats. Whether it is for the concept or will make production? The wood door capping a took a leaf from the VFL book and used LED strips sandwiched between chrome strips around the whole of the cars passenger cell.

So is the max available rim size on the X6 really only 20"? Because those 22"ers on the GLE Coupe look glorious. 20" really isn't cutting it imo.

I am not sure if I am the only one to say this but I prefer the styling of the older X6 to the new version. It seems more elegant and less fussy in its styling details, like headlights, front bumper and wheelarch tyre distance is much nicer than in the new version.

You can go to 21" on the X6 through optional and indeed M Performance.
But BMW still wanted to give the car its dynamic edge on the road which is why they are at 20". Whilst the AMG looks great and proportionate , 22" might affect ride refinement.

If these

If these pictures are taken in Germany? Then we are in the tradition of using winter tyres only at this time , therefore size is not merely the issue at this time.

They "fussied" up a really clean and elegant shape. Compared to the previous generation; the arch over the rear wheels, the complicated treatment of the blacked out parts around the exhaust, the vents behind the front wheels are all setbacks. I think the front nostrils do look better on the new car though. The GLE almost takes the cake because it is a more pure form, but that car has horrendous details and a front hood-line that only a mother could love.

BMW X6 designer refuses to confirm or deny cabrio version
X6 designed by Tommy Forsgren
BMW X6 designer Tommy Forsgren refused to confirm or deny the prospects of coming out with a cabriolet version.

Romanian magazine ProMotor had the opportunity to sit down and have a chat with BMW designer Tommy Forsgren who was in charge of styling the second generation X6 Sports Activity Coupe (SAV). When asked whether there's ever going to be a cabriolet version of the X6, the designer provided a rather elusive answer: "I can't tell you anything about that."

Taking into account he didn't flat out deny an X6 Cabrio, one can speculate that BMW is contemplating with the idea of chopping off the SAV's metal roof to turn it into Bavaria's Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet but obviously with better results. Those who are on the look for a convertible crossover will have to wait until next year when Land Rover will introduce the Range Rover Evoque Cabrio.

As a final note, Tommy Forsgren is established in United States but is originally from Sweden and aside from drawing the X6 he was also responsible for the "i" badge of the i3 and i8 models.
