The Golf 8 has a different shaped rear quarter light window, a bit BMW hoffmeister in my opinion.

It's hardly any different to that of Golf 7. A slight variation is all.

The touch controls for temperature will take some time getting used to. On the other hand it has two usb c port in the centre console which is uncommon. In most cars, including my X3, there is only one port.

It's his incessant gobbledygook (Geschwafel ohne Ende) that annoys me. The German national football team is in dire need of a coach similar to Franz Beckenbauer.

Golf 7 vs Golf 8 interior

Maybe I am getting old, but to be honest and personally I think the interior of the Golf 7 looks better than the Golf 8. It looks more upmarket in appearance.

I have to sit in both cars and compare but looking at these pics, the Golf 8 looks like its cheaper built with greater use of hard and shiny black plastics.

The center screen, instrument cluster and left light switch wing are made of one molded shiny black piano plastic. The nice looking rotating light switch in Golf 7 is replaced by a shiny flat panel of multiple switches in the Golf 8. The air vents in the new Golf look so thin, I wonder if they actually decrease the airflow into the cabin compared to the previous model.

One thing is true, the Golf 8 interior has less switches and controls compared to Golf 7 which makes its interior appear simplified in comparison.

I love the car overall btw. Superb job making a new Golf.
