I don't think its hard to understand the intent of his post, which is comparing models in the hiearchy. That's much different than the same car but different trim.

That's great, but a CLA would also probably start at a much lower price than a base E class too.

That's for sure. If you add some options to the CLA you can be at a price of a less specced C-Class, which will get a facelift next year. As of today I'd choose less specced C than more specced CLA. That is for the new CLA. As far as old CLA - where you can get 2.0L engines - that would be more difficult to choose. Only offering 1.5L is not enough for CLA imho. I hope they add 2.0L in the future.

They've finally given the E's front end some beef and a hint of arrogance/agression, not just a large grill.

And the rest just absolutely sucks.
I dislike everything on that white E53. The whole front but in particular these nasty bumpers, the black parts, front lights, rear lights, the ugly rims, the red details, the interior, the double shutline....

But yeah. Lovely proportions. Can't fault those.

Nice conservative spec. I specifically like this wheel option for the E53. They are sporty and understated at the same time.
What are your driving impressions on it such as steering feel, braking, and handling?

So a genuine question…. This or the M5?

With the M5 gaining so much mass, is this a better proposition as a fast saloon? I think that the acceleration figures aren’t that far off..

In the US at least they are about $35-50K in difference.
