E-Class W214 [Official] New Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W214)

The sixth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class executive car is a lineup consisting of three body styles, the W214 sedan, S214 estate, and the X214 all terrain estate, which are vehicles produced by German luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz Group since 2 May 2023.

The other day my car was due for inspection, so I got a car to drive to work. For free by the way.
They gave me a brand new, fully loaded E 220d 4Matic (with a six digit list price).
Some highlights:
- airmatic incl. rearwheel steering;
- 21” wheels;
- the “all you can get-package” seat massage included.

In short; it’s such a great car to travel long distance, day in, day out. Not only that, it is quite nimble on small, curvy roads. It’s one of those cars, that give you that reassuring feeling, you’ve got everything under control and nothing bad can happen to you.

Fuel economy is outstanding, on Dutch roads. Sound insulation not on S class level, but in itself on a high level nevertheless.

If I where to buy a car in this class, I would have hard time not going for a W214.

It has quite a good initial take off with a 3.3sec 0-60kmh time and 4.5sec to 80kmh.

I think that's thanks to the electric motor, which works along the combustion engine up to certain speeds and then the combustion engine carries on. But, please, do not quote me on that. An actual engineer would explain to you better.

Is the E63 officially dead? I don’t recall seeing spy shots yet. MB seems to be making big marketing push on the E53 as well.

If it’s dead it’ll be yet another clientele abandonment for those who want V8 AMGs.
