The new E-class has shorter front and rear overhangs than the W213, quite unusual. The seats front and rear has 40mm longer seat squabs which should provide better under thigh support. I cant wait to see it when it comes out in South Africa

I can’t get over how good this combo looks
I agree 100,000%
Matte pinstripe wood with beige interior.
Is it like a modern beige, not so "beige" but more towards white?
Probably the nicest looking interior in a sedan after the Flying Spur.
I wouldn't go that far, but there is something of that, a very modern interpretation of that, to you Bentley, to me, it brings up the Jaguar/Daimler double six, the preponderance of wood applied like that and the light tones even in the steering wheel, the first CLS also went there.

My gripes with some car interiors are:
-Wood inlays are increasingly rare. Making interior uniform with black leather, piano black or silver inlays is cheaper, reduces choice to make it easier for dealers to sell forecourt inventory - see Tesla.
-Dashboards are increasingly covered in screens from left to right
-The aesthetics don’t trigger emotion e.g calmness, adventure, luxury or sexual arousal.

The Flying Spur and E-Class are amongst the few cars that still have a T-shaped layout for inlays. I love the layout because it guides your eyes from the arm rest up towards the centre console and across towards the sides and doors(no door inlays on E-Class). This visual guidance gives an impression of a wide and expansive Space.

Both cars are also brilliant showcases of how design and technology can be merged Successfully. Many other car are biased to either extreme; Dominated by screens or lacking a big screen.

why does it sound like a 4 cylinder?
Maybe it's the next surprise MB has in store for its fans. It was at least rumored that the W214 E63 would use the same engine as the C63. I suspect that, based on the negative feedback, MB was forced to use the I6 instead.

That AMG E-class looks very well composed through those bends, hardly any body roll and neutral behavior with only some tire squeal. Engine doesnt sound like a 4-cylinder, it is not very loud but I reckon could be an inline 6.
