I have yet to see both the new E-class and 5-series but although the E-class is alot more conservative than the BMW, its design at least is pleasing to the eye from all angles and has an excellent looking interior. The G60 is probably my least favorite 5-series model of all the generations, I think design wise exterior and interior it is a step down from the previous LCI G30.

People who try to portray all the recent fiascos made by BMW with labels such as "groundbreaking" or "unique" are deceiving themselves and becoming ridiculous. It's been more than a year since the 7 series was released. Sales figures showed that the negative comments were justified. It is a matter of curiosity how successful the 5 series will be against the E class. The W214 is one of the most ambitious E-classes ever. I'm looking forward to the result.

Another comparison with the superscreen dash and the standard dash:

Both look good, but I think the standard dash looks fantastic with the large slab of wood on the passenger side. I am really happy that the W214 does not have ugly piano black center console. I think its dash looks even better than the S-class.
