S-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé Facelift (C217) 2017-

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse, is a series of full-sized luxury sedans and coupés produced by Mercedes-Benz. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz, being positioned above the other Mercedes-Benz models.
The 8er is nice on it's own way and it won't compete with the S-Coupe... it fits somewhere between the CLS and the S-Coupe.

I perceive the new 8er as being an automobile that does not genuinely rival any currently existing M-B model. In terms of "character". Perhaps the rumoured 2+2 M-B-AMG SL successor will be the 8ers true target.

Were the new 8er to be pitted against the C217, I would prefer the former. But that's just me. I like the "modern not fashionable, more technical" examples of automotive design.

@Yaz ... Get a load of this one. I'll give it 3 days max before all four of this guy's rims are bent on our roads.

My service advisors look at me funny when I tell them I daily drive the GS-F :D
Seriously, I can't imagine the ride quality with those - even with airmatic.

Can I go pick it up for you? I'll break it in gently :D

If I'm away even longer than expected I'll know how to call(y)

YOU are going to love driving this. That motor and new gearbox. Wowsers. Nice interior ... what colour is the exterior ?? Obsidian ? Or is it the green ?

Made a very last minute switch to Emerald Green. My first green car. My sales person made an error with the wheel selection, so I'll be getting a wheel swap... very lucky free of charge. Current wheels are not bad, but I had similar style rims on my old CL 10+ years ago, so it looks tired to me. The S63 cabrio (last photo) is the look I'm going for.

Very beautiful and classy colour combination. Reminds me of the days of W111, were such a combination was seen more often. Your car would do fine in a modern day “Columbo”
EDIT: what I like about America: the cars are almost always full optioned.

@sako97, have you finally picked up your car?

Made a few significant changes (new rims, carbon side sills, and carbon ceramics), so haven’t taken proper delivery yet since returning fom Cali. Just a few dealership visits to check progress and sit inside the rather exquisite interior.

It took quite some to get both components from Germany, but it is done and ready for pickup this weekend.

And final build.... after months of indecisiveness. She will not be sold, so decided to go all-in with the combination and options.
