Thanks for the posts. . a first month update. No major issues to report - in every way the new S65 is the best Mercedes Sedan produced! Many superlatives - already mentioned. A few niggles: the parking sensors seem slow to actuate; the trunk is very tight for golf clubs. On the positive surprises - the HUD is a terrific add.

I was dreaming about my ultimate desire on wheel and thought of configure my choice. Then noticed an exclusive change in interior, new three spoke steering wheel from S coupe. Any news on the same.

^ Seems the new steering wheel became available for 2015? :)

In Europe this new 3 spoke steering wheel comes with the option AMG Line (950). Standard leather, wood-leather as an option. The non AMG Line packaged S Klasse still do have the 2 sproke steering wheel. Till modelyear 2014 rhe AMG Line didn't have the new 3 spoke AMG Sport wheel.

The S65 AMG has a Nappa leather AMG sports steering wheel, the S 600 long a multifunction steering wheel in wood-leather version.

Wolfgang, you are absolutely correct. I again went through S-class configurator; new S600 have 3-spoke steering with wood & S65 have it in nappa leather.

Where as in mercedes-benz.de, initially as default this interior came with 2-spoke wheels...

I am not a big fan of the wheels - the US standard (think they are 796) are fabulous. Many people just stop to comment on the wheels!

I've not seen the S65 special wheel in person, in photo I've liked it. But I do have seen this wheel on S63 once; and I do like most of the AMG wheels.

There is a bit of a floor mat story. In the pictures - you see the mats originally delivered in the car. They are very light grey - and don't match the carpets. We (including our dealer) thinks that someone in Germany thought the contrast was like the contrast in the leather - NOT! They were replaced with mats that match the carpet - and look much better! And yes they are very, very light - good thing they are in Miami!

A fantastic combination of luxury and sportiness. Gratulation. (y)
Thanks . . have been driving it about a month! It is an incredible automobile - pictures can't do it justice! We ordered more than 6 months ago and tried to do a color combination that "toned down" some of the "glitz" of the chrome and had a unique interior. Very similar to the MB Detroit Auto Show S600 combination - and MB was gracious in building with the one interior package it had available at the time.
