A prototype of the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG extra-long wheelbase has been spied for the first time.

After seeing the upcoming stretched S-Class in S600 disguise, the model has now returned but in the hotter S65 AMG flavor. Set most likely to receive the Maybach nameplate, the longer S-Class will be offered with the massive V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo taken from the standard S65 AMG where it outputs 630 PS (463 kW) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft).

This Maybach derivative will be approximately 200mm longer than the LWB S-Class (5246mm) and will retain the 2+2 seating arrangement. It will be followed by a Pullman variant which will be almost six meters long and will have a 2+2+2 cabin layout. It's not known at this point whether the Pullman will receive the AMG treatment as well.

Report: Mercedes-Benz S600 Maybach could be revealed at Guangzhou Motor Show

Mercedes-Benz enthusiast media reports that the Silver Arrow automaker may be preparing to reveal its highly-anticipated S-Class limousine, which is rumored to sport the Maybach name, despite the failure of the Maybach brand.

According to the report, Daimler decided to incorporate the Maybach name to keep things relatable and to signify that this S-Class limo is no ordinary S-Class, standing out among the short- and long-wheelbase variants. But more importantly, the final model ready for production is expected to surface at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China. This is fitting because China is not only the world’s largest car market, but it’s one where the wealthy and affluent love to be chauffeured around.

Word is that the S600 Maybach will be powered by a twin-turbo a.k.a. bi-turbo 6.0L V12 good for nearly 525hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. An even larger S-Class limo is expected to arise in the form of the Pullman, which will even be larger than the S-Class Maybach, allowing for a 2+2+2 seating arrangement, versus the Maybach model’s 2+2 arrangement. That Pullman model is not expected to surface until 2015 though.

Playing and pausing the video at the various well known acceleration speed markers this car is seriously quick, 0-100 in about 4sec, 0-160 in about 8.5sec, 0-200 in about 12.5sec and 0-240 in about 18.5sec!

Oh that V12 sound! I wish I could keep my S65 forever which btw is faster than this new one.
Managed a 3.9sec. 0-100km/h not too long ago. I love big heavy V12's

^ she is reviewing the very same car as Ausfahrt above. Same engine builder and interior color.

It's infact the same car, same location and same video clips. Probably a media drive of S65 with their company own camera man sharing same footage. In case of the W221 S65, AMG had only one media car which was tested by TopGear in Albanian episode and all other medias which is the same car as in the below videos. Any how both are very realistic reviews and it really tempt me to take a test of this monster ASAP. :sneaky:

What a stunning car. The only one what could look a little bit more discreet, for my personal taste, is the front bumper.
