Range Rover [Official] Gen 5 Range Rover

The Land Rover Range Rover, generally shortened to Range Rover, is a 4x4 luxury SUV produced by Land Rover. The Range Rover line has been in production since it was launched in 1970 by British Leyland.
I'm surprised they got U.S. regulators to go for those blacked out lights.

Why? As long as they meet the minimum brightness standards that's totally fine. The U.S. market models will still need reflectors somewhere on the body though.

Wasn't sure.

You gotta see this SV specification in this video. It's absolutely stunning. It's time for Mercedes to get their shit together and make the GLS something like this. Move production to Germany if you have to, I mean this KILLS WITH FIRE the GLS and that Maybach bullshit. The G is really nice, but Mercedes needs the GLS to be more like this.

The front and interior could be improved but I really like it.

The finish, especially the shut lines are immaculate. It looks almost like a clay model.

Makes you wonder what MB were thinking, especially with regards to the panel gaps in the eq line.

Head or tail lights cost millions to develop and certify. New(unproven) tech even more because they need to be safe and work reliably and safely in dark, foggy, bright conditions and when the rear end is dirty.

I suspect that, when switched on, the red surface in the lights works as reflectors when hit with a direct light source like the headlights of another car.

After watching a few videos, I must say it’s a spectacular car in and out - my main criticism was about the interior, but after seeing it on video it’s quite nice, I’m still not all ok with the screen integration, I could have been something better like the DBX for example, but altogether it’s nice. I especially love the SV spec with the copper highlights, very tasteful.

So many nice cars in a row, Defender, Velar, then this, I can’t wait to see the new RR Sport.

It's a complete knockout. Land Rover has a pretty hot hand right now, I mean I see a new Defender every single day now and I've even seen the 2-door on the road now. They now have to figure out how to make the Discovery relevant again. Not sure what they can do there. It looks like they did drop the Velar SV V8 model though. No one has commented (that I've seen) on the BMW 4.4L being in this new Range Rover. The press just says it's a "new" 4.4L V8, no mention of BMW. If this RR Sport is variation of this full size Range Rover, which it will be, prepare to be stunned. We should see it around this time next year I'm guessing.

The interior looks breathtaking. Best looking SUV interior right now IMO.

It looks so good, this and the G wagen are the most desirable SUVs today. Now with a BMW engine and electric anti roll bars it should drive great.

JLR must get their stuff together because they’re running out of time to make the best of „the year of the car“ 2021. I hope the British can finally get a brand into the winning lane. None have been able to make a significant success in 20 years financially. https://www.jaguarlandrover.com/investor-relations

I maintain that the Discovery Will be discontinued and that the new Defender is its replacement. It's available with:

-A 2d, 5d, extended wheelbase 7-Seater(soon) and commercial versions.
-2, 6 and 8 cylinder engines + plugin hybrid.

Most importantly the Defender and Discovery have similar dimensions and cost roughly the same. However the Defender looks better and will have considerably higher resale value. Basically there are few if any reasons to buy a Discovery.

The Discovery Sport will remain as an entry level car to pull people into the dealership and wet their appetites for one day trading up to a Range Rover.

Seeing this new Range Rover makes the X7 look even more like a modded X5.

The interior looks breathtaking. Best looking SUV interior right now IMO.

The whole car is stunning inside out. Bang on point.

Range Rover sold around 60k per year pre Covid. At 180k Pounds average. This car has always been a successful and important model, make no mistake.
This car is a home run, as is the new Defender. The rest of their cars suck. I wish JLR all the best. Well done @Ultimate Car Guy

Appreciate the kind words but i left the company more than 6 years ago.

And the X7 looks like a bus. And notice all the wild lines compared to the Range.
The X7 was pre before today's more surface friendly BMW designs. I suspect the next generation model probably in conception stages? will certainly be influenced by the new Range Rover and possibly the next 7?

Seeing this new RR a song comes to mind:
