Explorer [Official] Ford Explorer (U502 - Fifth Gen)

Good to see Ford on a roll. This is definitely nice...for a crossover, which it is. If I was in the market for a new SUV, the new Grand Cherokee and 4Runner, which are based on a more robust platform would be higher on my list.

^^Unless you really have to go off-road or live on a farm, the "robustness" of the other 2 don't really matter. This thing can do more "off-road" than most "SUVs". ;)

I've bought one 2 weeks ago, great car! Better than the chevrolet traverse that I was actually looking for.

Congrats mate, I always liked the new Explorer but sadly we never get these in my country, so please do share some photos and your ownership experience with us, we don't hear much about these type of cars on the forum.

The Explorer looks wonderful IRL. Lots of Land Rover hints, tough. I still like the Grand Cherokee more; it's simple beautiful.

Regards!

I've had one as a rental in the US for the past 10 days, this is a superb vehicle and a great family hauler, it's a damn shame Ford can't plonk in the 2.7 diesel which they sell to JLR and import it to Europe, it's not excessively big, no bigger IMO than a Q7, Discovery and smaller than the Land Rover. It handled well, stopped well, the cabin was well built, mine had 22,000 miles on the clock, it had no squeaks or rattles so build quality must be fairly good.
