Also my thoughts were replaying the rear of the G30 5 series and in my opinion I think overall I like the looks of the 7 series better than that of the 5 series.

The rear is the weakest aspect of the G30. The shape of the headlights is evolutionary and the graphics lack distinction.

Fully agree and I even think the F10 rear looks better than the G30.

The F10 5 series was one of those "knock me dead" cars from the first time I laid my eyes on it.

As the design of the G30 is highly evolutionary, it would be silly of me to expect a similarly enthusiastic impact on my senses. It remains a pleasantly handsome automobile-with maybe an odd wrinkle or two. LCI Botox ?

LOL-I actually like these "glossy yet mousy" grey tones. Especially when paired with oxblood or terracotta leather interiors. They evoke memories of those drop-dead elegant series I Jaguar XJs' and M-B W108 SE/SELs'-which were often painted/appointed in that manner.

Yes, but at the time they were in unison with the then modern naked concrete structures. Now BASF has much more to offer.

I'm partial to Individual Frozen Arctic Grey, but the weak gloss grey tones just flatten out the look of the car so much.

I find that particular effect far more pronounced on matte/frost-tone painted M-B cars, especially on the most recent "soft design" C257 CLS and X290 AMG GT 4 door liftback.

One of the best interior features of the 7-Series are the rear headrest cushions. They make the riding experience heavily. It baffles me why they are not an option of every single BMW.
