6 Series (F12/F13/F06) [Official] BMW 6er Coupe (F13)

The BMW F12/F13/F06 is the third generation 6 Series produced and sold from 2011 to 2018. The body styles of the range are a 2-door convertible (F12), 2-door coupé (F13), and a 4-door sedan (F06, marketed as "Gran Coupé").
BMW might as well use the V12 in the 6er GC, since they have no 'halo' car (1) and already produce the engine for the F02 + Rolls-Royce (2). ;)

The 6er GC is the nearest we BMW fans are going to come to experience a 'halo' car from our beloved BMW and it's going to be expensive at that - V12 could only enhance the exclusiveness whilst at the same time it can compete with the Bentley Continental GT

PS: Oh and please do not f-up this thread by mentioning the i8 - it's NOT a halo car.

Well have to wait a while longer for the next generation of models to see the BMW CS Concept-inspired 7er GC/8er brought to fruition. There's no point positioning the 6er GC as BMW's flagship right now when it will be superseded by the 7er GC/8er as BMW's halo car in the next generation line-up.

Also, no reason to put a V12 in the 6er GC when an M variant will be on offer. I think we can all agree that M-tuned V8TT will do a fine job.

The 7er (F01/02) Will not be replaced by any future BMW as BMW's flagship. Just the same with the S-class, it has not been nor ever will be replaced as M-B's flagship. The SLS is a halo car NOT the companies new flagship;)

MB's flagship is the CL imo. Moreso than the S at least.

Definitely not. The CL has gone through so many name changes, and is actually about to be nixed for yet another name change. Proving relative unimportance in M-B's grand scheme. The S is the core, the lasting name. The CL is simply a niche derivative of it.

No, the CL is the better version of the S class. Better and more expensive (that's extremely important for you)

And I don't care how many name changes the car has had or will have. It's always the same car; an S class coupe. The S class is for people who work, and the CL is for people who don't work anymore :)

CL's name is only a victim of some lame-ass brand manager at MB. Klier is right, CL is the S Class coupe. Think SEC. The real confusion comes because of the disjointed decision to name the S coupe CL comes with another class of MB starting with C and another car, badged CLS. I would offer that the brand manager is suffering from CRS, or can't remember shit, in changing the S coupe's badge to something beginning with the established nomenclature of another, existing class of cars from MB.

How to do LED with out looking like lit up christmas tree...

The Christmas tree lights are right under the headlights in the 6'ers case (fog light area). :D

You've tried ... But it's obviously been a very bad attempt, sorry. :D

Have you seen the LED fog lights while switched on? They certainly do not look like Xmas tree. Especially in comparison to some DtRL & low/high beam LEDs in a form of chain of 10 or more (separated) LEDs .

You have to admit that BMWs LED quad corona rings & "reversed-LED" main projectors are much classier solution than regular X-mas tree-like solutions most other cars with LED headlights have.

I indeed did, I saw them on at night on a driving car (see my previous posts here, i.e "The brightest most neon-blue/Tron/cartoon lights I've ever seen".... And that isn't supposed to be a negative connotation, my only "criticism" of the power and presence of the 6'ers LED's at night is that they overpower the actual cars understated design, they're the most arresting factor of the car at night.

I see 3 points of LED light in each "fog light". Sure, it isn't the 5+ you'll see slathered all over a Benz (Benzes now have about 3 separate positions of 5+ points of LED DRL light), but it is BMW's first foray into "points of light" up front, which is basically the X-Mas tree effect, albeit much more subtle than what others are doing.

And your Link doesn't work btw. ;)

K-A is right on that one. The fogs still are Christmas tree like. But they aren't the daylight running lights and aren't supposed to be turned on, only under extreme weather conditions.
In fact, it would be illegal to turn them on when there's no fog. You'd get a fine here if they are on when there's no fog.

Ah, so they're not DRL? The guy/gal's car I saw definitely had them turned on (at night) then.

In that case, I extra agree, BMW have shown how not to make a car look like LED Xmas trees. Even their rear lava lights are an exercise in differentiation and style compared to the now-common point-of lights out there.

They're fortunate to have thought up such a trademark "Angle Eyes" look, as other Automakers, like M-B, scramble to create an LED identity up front (quite messily in some cases).

Well I thought I would jump in. As a new Coupe owner, all I can is she is fabulous. I will take my Coupe over a CL any day. They parked her in front of a CL a tthe resuturant last Saturday. If you are a Mercedes person then of course you have your preference, HOWEVER if you are a BMW person then this car rocks in about every way! Enjoy the photos!
