This is Benz solution ,no actual connection to the exhaust and tips. Other manufacturers are doing it as well but this looks really cheap.
BMW took the time to mold their exhaust and tips into the same shape much more elegant solution.![]()
What is the name of that wood trim? Fineline anthracite?
It's called "Fineline Ridge".

Yeah, I get what you're saying but shouldn't it actually be like this? I see it this way: these optional extra accoutrements command a considerable extra and push the selling price up significantly compared with a base model. I say - if you're spending the money then the value should be clearly perceived.Speaking of lower spec models
@slicknick Your comment spurred me into action and I went to my local to see if they had any G30s on the floor... they did.
This car was a 540i with M-Sport spec and a fairly nicely specced interior barring the exclusion of that fancy new stitched dashboard treatment that's all the rage right now.
I thought it looked and felt fantastic - not Porsche Panamera fantastic (I sat in one the other day) but certainly BMW and the class fantastic. The dash-top plastics are excellent: great texture, solid-feeling and properly matte with no hint of cheap sheen.
This car's interior is not up to par, its as easy as that. Its simply not good enough.
Maybe so. I'm not sure I haven't sat in one yet. I have hopes its better than the base W213s.
Go sit in a low spec W213 and you'll be sorely disappointed. It's not up to par and simply not good enough.
