I must say when I sit in a car I also do the same especially if its my first time in a specific car I like to get the feel of thr material I don't see what's the issue people are complaining .What I find wierd is you are a guy who owns now two BMW one a beast in the form of the m4 and yet if you give your opinion people are upset I mean I can understan...

The green house seems off. Otherwise the integration of the chrome garnish on the bumper is a bit better than on the sedan.

I like the car a lot but losing the hofmeister kink makes me sad. Now if some one just showed me from A pillar and back I would guess it is an Infiniti or something. Why change stuff that is not broken?

Very polarizing and good-looking, inside and out. Should be a winner. Some people on other forums are whining that the rear lights look like those from a Lexus, but I don’t see the resemblance at all.

I also see the Hoffmeister Kink in it. It might not be as pronounced, but it’s still there, at least to my eyes.

This thing looks HUGE! I am always amazed at how big cars have become in this day and age. Just the other day I was waiting in my car at an intersection when an orange early model BMW E12 in great condition sped across. That car looked tiny! And that was the 5er of its day!

Taller by about an inch, fatter by a good few pounds! Would have to research the stats, but without wishing to racially stereotype, the average 3 series consumer might not have changed a great deal thanks to the China demographic, which the E21 didn't cater to.

Chinese are not represantive here, because they get only the extended wheelbase version although they are the last to need it.

Thanks a mil for this - totally enlightening to see how closely evolved the G20 is from the F30, details aside. The differences in profile are so nuanced to the point that it's only the C-pillar kink that gives the identity away. As I suspected, the belt line of the G20 is in the region of an inch higher over that of the F30. The G20 also shows a slightly longer front overhang for what is a bulkier front-end overall.
