Official: 2012 C63 AMG Coupe

You sound foolish here because the E30, E36, E46 were identical to their coupe counterparts with the exception of having a different amount of doors.

While true, none of the them look awkward like the C63 coupe. Probably cause of the fact the coupe body was factored into the design from the very beginning and not an afterthought that was hacked together at middle of the car's life. The 3er compact on the other hand suffers from the same awkwardness probably cause it was again an afterthought.

It isn't even true. E30 is too far away to make a normal comparison, but the E36 coupe and E46 coupe are far from the same as the sedan with two doors less.
People who claim this, have no idea. C coupe is much more similar to the sedan.

Not that it all matters to me (being similar to a sedan), but Bum-Man's claim is completely false.

Awful tacky wheels on the release pictures, but those of that other picture really finish it off.

Still unsure on the Coupe tho, like has been said. Proportions are off, i'll leave my judgement till I go see/drive one!

I don't see what some are talking about with the C Coupe's proportions. Its a sedan with 2 less doors and a lower roof like the old C124 coupes. Mercedes said that they were intentionally doing that again, like in the past.

That is true. They were both very similar, and completely different. I still wonder how BMW managed to do that. I absolutely loved that fact, a coupe that is obviously a derivative from the sedan yet, in fact, is noticeably different and sportier in all its proportions.

IRL you notice very few panels are the same (I think only the front wings and bonnet, all the rest is different, including all the rear).

In that regard the e92 is a very different beast, and while it looks good, I preferred the subtelty of the past coupes.

The C Coupe is much more like the C123, C124: a sedan with more inclined front/rear windshield and two doors less.

I think it looks absolutely brilliant. A stunningly attractive little coupe, in my eyes much better executed than the E Coupe.

Based off of pics, I'm just not feeling it too much. The greenhouse looks terribly cheap, and contrived, and like a copy of Honda mixed with BMW with some Pontiac Sunfire thrown in (desperate attempt by M-B, and not very M-B like).

I prefer the Sedan as it fits the proportions of that body and chassis much better.

We'll see how it appears in person.

Terrible press photos!
White doesn`t do anything for this car (at least not in photos..)... It should have been presented in silver, red or black. -don`t like the black wheels either. The silver AMGs look way better.

I also believe sunny has a point about the wheels looking too small at the rear. It`s not about the greenhouse design, it`s the "thick" body mass hanging over them. A darker color would take care that...

Yeah I agree.

Some of the press photos do not do this car justice IMO.

This car will look stunning in black and I believe in person it will be a very aggressive looking car.. The front end is very similar looking to the SL63 AMG..

Overall a great looking coupe. Very sexy!

Hey! I'm trying to eat dinner here!

WTF is that thing? M-B trying to keep up with BMW's stupid Concepts? Lol.

Meh, it's alright. An obvious bandaid car before M-B probably designs a proper C-Coupe for the next gen with some R&R behind it. I'm not crazy about the black wheels too. Funny how M-B and BMW are both jumping on the bandwagon at the same time with their performance variants.
