AT&T having an inventory of cases means nothing. By the way, the AT&T story has already been confirmed to not have been true. Second, many carriers are using the term "iPhone 5" as a place holder for whatever it is that Apple introduces tomorrow.

I am not longer keeping my hopes up. I am getting ready for the same form factor but with supercharged guts.

I agree on the credibility of the guy. But if iPhone 5 is not announced tomorrow, it will be bad for the new CEO who who is holding the event the first time, as most people are used to a new iPhone every year and Apple has not released a new iPhone since June 2010. He will get booed by everyone at the event, if all he announces is a update to iPhone 4, rather than a new iPhone. It will be good for Android/Google. I personally have been waiting for new iPhone and if its not announced tomorrow, I am going out and buying the Droid Bionic.
 
That spring story is by ways of WSJ..and they usually dont bs!!!

Sorry, but you are wrong. So far, Apple has upgraded current models with an S and if they follow that path the current iPhone 4 should get upgraded, which it more than likely will.

If it weren't for Android, talk about an additional iPhone would not be on the table. Apple released the first gen iPhone in 2007. Then in 2008 they updated it to the 3G. in 2009 it was updated to the 3Gs. The 2008 and 2009 versions were the same with the only exception being that the phone was upgraded internally. In 2010 the iPhone 4 came to fruit. It is only logical to have a 4s. The question is, whether there will be an additional phone.

This is the only credible rumor thus far that gives anyone hope that an iPhone 5 will be launched tomorrow:

With two and a half hours to go from the lifting of the vail, we know little in terms of what will show up. 4S always made sense, up to the moment Apple failed to release it in June. The extra three months, and accompanying histeria with fans is a sign of a twist in Apple strategy, voluntary or not. Clearly, Apple had to adapt to something. Perhaps 4G or like-4G expectation? Competition? They may have gotten wind of the fact that a simple 4S won't do without a major shake? Or because the operating system or another feature took painfully long to get right. From what I have heard of this Assistant feature, it is to throw the gauntlet to the competition, a glove slapping them in the face. Either way, Apple is well positioned, and it is hard to imagine them screwing up, at least for a while.
 
Oddly enough the Stock is trading lower right now, and has tanked in the last week. Obviously, this is in line with the Global Markets, but with a iPhone date, it's surprising that it hasn't rallied against the Market. It did a few weeks ago, so maybe it already did its steamroll?

In a couple hours, the Stock will either plunge or rally, and about an hour after that, it can plunge or rally in the other direction.

This was noted a few days ago, actually, which leads me to believe that, aside from the negativity in the markets now with economic concerns around the world, something else is pulling this stock down. Either way, I am betting that today Apple will not release an iPhone 5 and instead only an iPhone 4s.

It makes sense since they have developed the new assistant feature, iCloud, and an enhanced GPS system for the phone. I think the iPhone 5 that we were all waiting for is in the works. A few rumors just popped up indicating that today the iPhone 4s will be released with the aforementioned features and that the iPhone 5 mock-up we have all been seeing is a prototype that is still in the works. So, perhaps Apple will in fact release an iPhone 5 but not just today. Maybe in the first quarter of 2012 or maybe in June of 2012.

Sorry guys, but it just seems impossible at this moment for Apple to introduce a 4 inch screen especially considering that NO PARTS WHATSOEVER FOR THIS PHONE WERE EVER LEAKED. Nor were any screen pictures taken nor were any aluminum back sides seen. All of the parts that we have seen have been for the 4s.

Apple to Release iPhone 4S with New GPS Features? - Mac Rumors


"Their report mirrors much of what has been expected. Apple will released an iPhone 4S today with an 8-megapixel camera and an A5 processor. The only new information is the claim that the new iPhone will have "more definitive GPS features". The site doesn't clarify what those might be.

They also report that the teardrop "iPhone 5" design that we've seen for months is a prototype iPhone "which won't be available any time soon" and the iPhone 4S will have the same dimensions as the iPhone 4. The focus of the new device will be the Assistant recognizer that we've previously profiled.

Bought 10 AAPL at $401 a few days back, and I quadrupled my position at $371. We will see where it goes from there. I do not trade equities usually. but have drank the cool-aid on this iPhone whirlwind, and I expect moves, if only momentary.
