Iphone 6

Are you used to the extra large size?

Well it took me about a week to get use to the size since I was coming from a 3.5 inch 4S. So far its been perfect for texting and watching videos compared to my 4S. Only issue I have with the size is getting it in my pocket. I have a hard case, but I usually take it out when I drive to avoid a possible bend issue.

How about battery time?

With regular use it usually last me the entire day (I usually start using it around 4am, but by 6pm it's around 27%). Now if I play Candy Crush or Bejeweled then I lose about 2 hours of battery time. It's much better then my 4s and my co-workers regular 6.

Bought my girlfriend one and I actually like it lot. Coming from an S5, I wouldn't mind owning one. But then the other day I played with the G3 of a friend and that is also an excellent phone.

I have the iphone 6 plus and it is the first iphone with decent battery life. Battery life is at least double all previous iphones in real world use.
Hummmm..I have to say this is one area the iphone has been lagging in the past 2 years.

I currently enjoy 4-5 days of standby with regular use or 1-2 days if used a lot. I currently have the iPhone 5. How you ask? Simple. From lessons learned back when I had the iPhone 3S and upgraded the operating system which quite literally killed my battery time to less than 24 hours standby (without using it!), this time I refused to upgrade it (did not want to go through that pain again), so I'm still running iOS 6.1.4. Works perfectly fine and the only downside now is that I'm starting to see a few of the apps no longer support this version (need iOS 7 or newer), but given that I've had this phone for over 2 years now, it may be time for an upgrade.. not that I want actually, I kind of like this design better than the new one yet I may have to either do the OS upgrade (and most likely kill the great battery time I've enjoyed so far) and/or depending on its results, most likely change to the new iPhone 6 or just wait a bit more for the next generation.

And also if you are wondering still, I'm a moderate to heavy user, have hundreds of apps installed, have bluetooth on, wifi on, notifications on, location services on, literally everything that I've read online people recommend to tweak and turn off to save battery time is running, and still have days of use and great standby time before I actually have to plug it in.

Siri works flawlessly, and use it almost every day. For example, when I need directions on the fly and forgot to send them to my car, I use it to guide me and her voice comes through the car. Use it almost every other day to set reminders, etc. This to me has been so far a fantastic smartphone with a beautiful design and craftsmanship quality; I'm extremely satisfied with it and I suspect the minute I upgrade its OS, it will end up killing its battery time - which makes me wonder if this is something 'systematically engineered' to make sure I keep spending money and buy the newer ones. ;)

You'll be glad to know that IOS versions >= 8.0 have a battery usage analysis function that shows battery usage by app. It is quite useful for finding out where your battery life went. Skype was using over a third of my battery life. I have no idea why but I don't leave Skype open any more.

Battery time Is something I appreciate. My Sony Xperia Z3 Compact last for almost 4 days and then I'm not using the 'ultra stamina' function.
