Amazing. Is that the one in Beijing that they just opened or something?

BTW, iPhone 5 isn't on sale in mainland China until December.... that event in itself will be remarkable!

Still sold out everywhere that I check here, and I only have another week or so to return my 4S for one. :(

At least I love my 4S. :) Enjoying its beauty still naked, haven't dropped it yet! :D

It's on University in downtown Palo Alto. Moved across the street to a larger facility. :)

There is NO way that it's still sold out! I think you might want to go to a different Best Buy or something.

Believe me, I've tried ALL Best Buys within States around me. NONE have them! They still haven't even gotten all their pre orders met yet. Every time I'm at a BB or Apple store, tons of people come in asking for the 5 and have to get turned away. Glad to see demand is overwhelming but it's a bummer that even a month after its release, it still isn't like it's released at all.

After 3 weeks with my iphone5, I'm starting to think that my upgrade from the 4s, was a total waste of money.
1. Many apps, like whatsapp, viber, spotify etc etc STILL are not optimized for the iphone5 screen, and has black lines at the top and bottom. I hate that.
2. Maps sucks big time. For example, my maps are in arabic, alhough all my phone settings are in swedish. There is nothing I can do about it. Tried it all.
3. The phony is so much easier to scratch, and feels so humble...

I dont know guys. I'm not overwhelmed.

I'm agree with what you've said Tumbo. I definitely understand. Personally, I don't own an Iphone but I do own an Ipad 3 and won't switch over the 4th Generation for the exact reasons you said. In reality, it will offer practically no advantage over the 3rd generation. Let's be realistic. Most people will switch over for the simple reason that it's 'new'.

One thing the 4th Gen will offer is a better from facing camera. Admittedly I've been complaining about a better front camera for years - helps when I'm skyping with my son - but other than that? Really, I'm sorry. Waste of money as far as I'm concerned. Might as well by a $40 Logitech camera and attach to my computer rather than spending $700 for one feature..

And I forgot two very important things:

- the god damn lightning charger cable is IMPOSSIBLE to find anywhere. I have like 4 cables for my ipad3, iphone4/4s and I now have only one for the iphone5. I have to take it everywhere with me, cause the phone eats the battery like crazy. And all the shops can tell you "no sir, we dont have it yet", when you ask for extra charging cables. I hate that. The new iphone5 should have the adapter from 4/4S to 5, WITH every new phone sold. Its a disgrace.

- And yet again, that battery. It's just soooo bad.

Yup, agreed. My battery is also bad, actually worse than my previous Galaxy.

And my brother somehow managed to drop the phone on one of my dumbells, so there's a really noticeable dent/scratch on the aluminium just below the homebutton. Ofcourse it's "my" fault, no doubt, but it wouldn't be as visible if it had been a 4/4s. Other than that, I love the phone.

The Apps situation is unfortunate, but give it just a bit more time as developers are scrambling to optimize them for the 5's screen. Obviously with such supply chain pressure being unable to meet demand, the early adopters have to hang it out for a bit as the soon-to-be influx of models getting finally into the hands of "walk in consumers" will be increasing rapidly.

The Maps are the same for all IOS6 devices, yeah? Have you tried DL'ing 3rd party sources? That's what I'd do (if I used the Maps on my phone) while Apple continue to refine their own new one.

Is it the aluminum that's easier to scratch? Even the white/silver one? That's odd because they said it's the same aluminum on the iPad and Macbook's which are extremely durable.

The battery issue sucks. My 4S's battery has gotten much better since I got it, but I've "trained" it well via letting it always go to "empty" then recharging it fully, never over-charging it, etc. Also, I looked up "tricks" on iOS to further prolong batter life (turning off some tracking stuff, especially on Apps that I don't usually use, etc.).

Montana: Unfortunately, though, if it was a 4/4S, it wouldn't have scratched, but it would have cracked. :D

I don't know where you have been going, but for a relatively small market like Australia we do not have a stock shortage problem. The iphone 5 is widely available in Sydney, I can walk int the storea and get you one today and have it expressed shipped to the US by the end of this week.

The aluminium case itself is durable, but the paint on the aluminium is not.

I've checked every Apple store around me and every Best Buy within 2 States from me. iPhone 5 isn't available anywhere. There was an article put out about a week ago stating that iPhone 5 was showing up as "readily available" in more stores, mostly in rural areas, but that you still can't really walk in anywhere and buy one. Whenever shipments do come in, they sell out immediately.

Not sure if anything's changed within the past week or several days, but I know for fact that in two major cities with about 10 Best Buy's between them, iPhone 5 is still all sold out with no eta on when shipments are coming in. I'm following it closely since I've had one month to return my 4S for one, and with 5 days left, still can't locate any.

Last night I charged my iphone5 to 100%, and then disconnected it to do something and then forgot to leave it on charge over night as I usually do. 8 hours later when I wake up, I have had no calls, no text messages, nothing. Guess what? 67%!! Seriously? For just lying there? Its ridiculous.

That sucks! Have you tried returning it? I would try getting a replacement 5. Google battery saving tricks for iOS, sounds like something might be draining the battery or something, otherwise some kind of glitch. Can't imagine that should be normal. I'd be pissed.

Do the phone show you how the battery was used? Did you manually switch off all background date transfer, as well as 4G connection.

How do I see how the battery was used the last 8 hours?
And No to the last of your two questions.

That's one reason I'm happy not to have 4G. I know 4G Android's are supposed to mostly be notorious for battery drainage, and I know my Mom's 4G HTC drained battery like CRAZY.

One tip I have is like Monster said, turn off "Cellular Data" when you're at home and using Wifi. Nothing changes on your phone at all, still get calls, text, etc, but the phone isn't pointlessly consuming energy to feed the Cellular Data that you're not even using (when on Wifi). Having 4G probably enhances that effect therefore turning it off (when using Wifi) should really help battery drainage.

There's also stuff in here that's general iOS tricks for saving battery:

Haha! Nah, the phone didn't hit it hard, but it was enough to scratch it. :( Still, I'd rather have a scratched iPhone 5 than a S3. :D
